Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

A message to Ironing Board: Take a breath, mate. Take your hands off the keyboard and consider this. You're defending a West Ham manager for trying to lose a game by not too many goals. If you have any sense of what this club is about, you can't do that. You're in the Berlin bunker. The Russians are...

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United:Match thread (19/02)

Before this thread sinks and dies, I want to thank all the people whose gallows humour has made reading it bearable. That was one of the most depressing matches I've watched in four decades of supporting West Ham, and it's a credit to the fortitude and wit of our fans that I could read 70+ pages abo...

He part owns a pub in Latimer Road, near where I used to work.
Absolutely **** pub. Crap, overpriced beer and clueless staff. I used to have to drink in the fly-blown estate pub over the road.
I forgive him, though.

Didn’t he come out because he was about to be exposed for grooming a 15 year old boy in Canada who subsequently hung himself?
17-year-old, according to Wikipedia. Doesn't say anything about grooming, but there was an arrest warrant out for him in the US.

Re: Banned By The Club For Wearing Anti-Board Shirt

https://www.kumb.com/story.php?id=134378 "underhand"? There's an opening... That's shocking. You can't ban someone for being underhand. The criteria are clearly stated. The question I would ask is, "who complained?" Did anyone outside of the directors' box feel incited either way? What about people...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

The itinerary of the Unofficial Early March is as follows: 11:00: Upton Park, Queens: for a saveloy, sausage in batter, chip butty, can of coke 11:10: Having walked down Green Street, try not to cry as I look at what was the Boleyn Ground 11:15: Walk down Dogshit Alley, try not to tread in dog poo....

Re: Justin Fashanu Hall of fame (non whu)

Fashanu knew what would happen when he came out. It effectively killed him. So you could say he’s been recognised for his courage, and to reassure today’s gay footballers that things have changed - albeit clearly not that much.

I used this predictor, because you can filter out teams to speed things up.

First time out, I had us surviving comfortably. I'm going in again, sober.

Edit: no, I've still got us staying up comfortably.
What's wrong with me?

Seems odd that Hammers United didn’t post about that on here seeing as they weren’t sure about it.
I've just had a message from Lee Rogers from HU, confirming that the Just Giving page is authentic.
Off to give them some money now...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Good (but sad) post mate  My great great grandad was the first of my lot - died in the silvertown explosion in 1917 - lived in West Ham from birth The women too - my Nan went to her first game over there in the late 30’s - she actually went to her first game before my Granndad did, a fact she...

A bit weird, people saying it's a good time to play City.
A clear case of clutching at straws.

There's nothing fair about Financial Fair Play.
Yes, City broke the rules, but the rules were introduced to protect the established elite, not to create a level playing field.

Re: Are our players as good as we think they are?

I think some of them are actually better than we think. You could build a very effective front three from Haller, Antonio, Anderson and Yarmolenko - and likely Bowen too. Noble has had his limitations horribly exposed by having to play right in the middle of midfield. Give him less running to do and...

Mystic Moyes. He was right too
It’s a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy though, isn’t it, if you’re the man in charge of motivating the players and you start out with the demeanour of Eeyore with haemorrhoids.

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

I can’t find the video now, but didn’t David Moyes use pretty much his first post-match interview at Sunderland to prepare the fans for a relegation battle?
I remember thinking at the time, ”I’m glad he’s not our manager.”
