Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
We have routes to success: Antonio rolling a centre back, Paqueta finding a first-time pass, Kudus getting away on the flank, set pieces… but we need to defend at 100% of our potential.
Absolutely bricking it.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread
Yeah, I'm the same. I was a bit ambivalent at the time, but now I'm completely comfortable with the decision. The idea that he's not impeding the goalkeeper is ludicrous. He's right in front of him. It's like saying a bollard isn't impeding you because you can go round it. I also keep hearing the ar...

Not to cast aspersions, but with some of his tackles, Paqueta looked like someone trying to be booked.

Last observation before I get back to my beer.
I sometimes wish Paqueta didn't have ice in his veins.
I sometimes wish he'd panic like a startled mouse and slash the ball into touch.

For two decades now, Tottenham have had the most repulsive hair in the division.
Do they all go to the same barber? And is that barber a satanist?

Lovely to see the "smart" Anthony Gordon earn a place in Garth Crooks' team of the week.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Unless VAR had a camera angle that they didn't show on TV, in neither of the handball decisions did you actually see the ball hit the hand or arm. You might assume that it did, based on the movement of the ball, but that's not the same as seeing an offence, and certainly not enough to overturn an on...

Pointing is an unnatural position?bristolhammerfc wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 5:15 pm It was in an unnatural position because he was pointing to a spot to his right with his arm outstretched. We got away with that.
Most defenders ensure their arms are flat to their sides when defending

Al-Hilal: an incredible achievement [non WHU]
I'm surprised it hasn't been celebrated on here, but on Tuesday, Al-Hilal broke the world record for consecutive wins by a top-flight team. All the more impressive because they did it without their star man, Neymar, who's been injured since October. I'm sure we can all join with the previous holders...

Re: ✍ Welcome Tomas Soucek
Funnily enough, I've been thinking recently what a slapdash finisher he is. For someone who gets into the box so often and so well, he's missed some absolute sitters this season.
But in light of that goal a the weekend, I'll keep my trap shut so as not to embarrass myself.
