Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Our wage bill has been behind Villa, Everton and, I believe Leicester during Moyes second spell…as well as the new top 7. I dont know about recent years, but as of right now, we have the 8th highest spend on wages, behind the usual top 6 + Villa (i just checked). Our income aside from TV money and ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

And if you factor in wage bills? Ps he hasn’t ‘invested’ - he’s spent the clubs money I'm not sure about wage bills. I haven't checked that. Sure, he's spent the clubs money. But the point is, he's spent what we earn/generate, and hasn't stashed sums of it away in some secret account like some will...

If you're taking right now as a snapshot, it's close to it, yeah.

But we've obviously spent a lot more in our recent years. Our net spend over the last 2 or 3 years is a lot more than the previous 7 (if your comparing averages).

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I don’t particularly like the conclusion but I don’t see how it can be argued that we’ve advanced under Moyes but haven’t advanced under Sullivan. I guess some people may argue DM has advanced the club in spite of the board, not with their help (not my position, personally). Tbh I think the board h...

Your mate is winding you up. There is very little chance he gets sacked before the end of the season.

I honestly don't know why anyone would get so riled up by ex. If you like him, follow him and his posts, if not, just leave it.

FWIW, I find him to be very credible.

Re: West Ham Utd v Crystal Palace - Match Thread

Another very boring performance. You have to say, DM is doing well to make us this dull to watch, considering we have the likes of Kudus and Paqueta in the side. We don't have any real style of play apart from knocking loads of long balls forward and hoping/fighting for the second balls. We won't ge...

Payet was magical and more consistently a threat. He was also more fun to watch.

I think Paqueta is great btw, and I love how he gets stuck in.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Everton: match thread

Well. Where to start with that?! First off, well done Everton. We didn't cause them too many problems but they were pretty comfortable throughout the game, and thats pretty damning. Losing at home to Everton (no disrespect) is pretty concerning. In fact, the last 3 games we've looked pretty toothles...

Re: ⚽ Olympiakos v West Ham Utd: match thread

Most concerning thing for me is the absolute lack of response from the Villa game.

Also, Paqueta needs to seriously up his levels and get back to some basics.

Regardless of the results, our football has become quite boring to watch (clearly there are exceptions, but I'm talking on overall terms).

A lack of a top class clinical striker is really going to hurt us this season.

That miss from Antonio was terrible. Usually his headers are good.

Going by form, it will take us 18 months to identify the wrong replacement, and then ship that replacement off 12 months after that.

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

I’m not buying it. Kovacic replaces Gundogan’s squad place and Cole Palmer/Foden will be options on the right to replace Mahrez with the rumoured Olise interest the much more obvious signing for them for that role. I think they have enough options through the middle to not need him. I can only assu...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

The fact that we might pursue JWP instead of McTominay tells me everything I need to know about the planning and strategy. Two very different CMs offering very different strengths and weaknesses. Isn't anyone thinking about the type of player best suited to compliment what we have, and then identify...

Pengland Penaldo Pessi etc. Anyone got any idea why people keep prefixing or transposing the first letter of names & places with "P" on social media? I'm pretty sure this started with Penaldo - a jibe aimed at him for scoring lots of penalties (rather than actual open play goals). it ...

All thins considered, happy with the result. Neither team were very good, but we were definitely better. We've had to rely on set pieces to win today. Here's hoping we put in a better performance next week. I'd rest the entire starting 11 on Sunday....but not sure we can do that without getting into...

Re: West Ham Utd v AZ Alkmaar Europa Conference Semi Final Match Thread

We've shown no real intensity. We are the home side, not them, so we should be taking it to them.

They are happy to pass it around the back, bide their time, wait for us to come out, and then pass it between the lines and get in behind the midfield.
