Re: The French corner [non WHU]
Thanks Misko. If we're looking for a reserve keeper, surely the one from Brest would have to be the ideal back up to Areola

After his latest experience of VAR at club level, you can hardly blame him for not getting too excited.

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
One positive from the last couple of games, I think, is that both Phillips and JWP have seen that they are not automatic choices and probably not in the preferred 1st xi at present, so, whichever of them gets to play, is going to have to show some fight if they want to keep their spot. Looking forwa...

Thanks, Micky. How are you going in the league? Any chance of getting in the promotion picture?

Comment on BBC feed:
"Let's be honest, supporting spurs is a lot like driving a car with no engine. You might give it a polish and it'll look good at times. But everyone knows you're going nowhere.

Hold your horses. The week's not finished yetI am Legend wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 7:12 pm Fulham have been excellent. Played some nice attacking football. Their movement around the ball holder is ripping Spurs apart.
What a good week. Incredible European victory and Spurs getting battered.

Re: Other games 16th & 17th March
Newcastle have been the opposite of us against Freiburg - anything but clinical. They've had several really good breakaway opportunities but have dillied and dallied every time and not even got a shot away.
You really cannot afford that away at the Etihad.

Re: Other games 16th & 17th March
Makes sense. His style puts hard minutes on the players. Whereas it is more volume of minutes in our case. In all seriousness, I do think that this is why Moyes likes us to sit off and conserve our energy in most of our games rather than pressing hard. Thought also that it seemed like the players w...

Gustavo Hamer from Sheff U looks like he is Prem quality. Not sure if/where he fits in for us, though.bubbles1966 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 12:53 pm
There's nothing at Sheff U, while Burnley might have one or two squad fillers.

You've forgotten Freddie Potts, who I would hope would come back and stake a claim in midfield.

Avoided Liverpool in Semi too if we get through and home 2nd leg as well. Not bad at all.

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24
Only team I don’t want to meet is Liverpool. Not because I am scared of them, but because it would feel flat to play against an English team. The headline on the BBC after the games was literally along the lines of 'Liverpool cruise through, Brighton go out, but Villa through'! We didn't even get a...

Re: ✍ Welcome Danny Ings
Such a good finish for the goal today. Showed his real class there. Couldn't help thinking after that, that he's really wasted a year of his career by coming to us. He needs to be playing for a team who have the ball in the opposition box far more than we do. Although he obviously has his limitation...

He’s finished - he’s 34 this month and his pace and power are on the wane. He totally transformed the game in the 2nd half with his power and running. I've been as criticaI of him as anyone this season. but I can only think anyone who is criticising him on today's performance has a massive confirma...
