Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

I never argue with other posters but the released players weren't adequate Benrahma was totally frustrating snd formals had gone off the boil the last 12 months. I agree 2 replacements should have been inplace and signed. Smells of Sully penny pinching to cover phillips wages. Anyway on to tomorrow...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Im not saying they would have won but the fact that they got rid of two perfectly adequate midfielders and bought no one is a big part of why they will go out. Even if Moyes wanted to make changes (unlikely i know) he has no ****ing squad to choose from. Once again Sullivan has done just enough to a...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

There was a superb piece of journalism in today's 'Mail' on Mason Greenwood and how he has completely refound himself at Getafe. To join a club such as that, a sort of nothing club really, situated in a unfashionable neighbourhood in Madrid, at the time he joined them was, for him, the best move he...

Re: Declan Rice

Scamacca, no. Kehrer and Downes out on loan. Leaving Areola, some bloke called Paqueta, Aguerd, Ings, Cornet and Emerson. So really 4 out of 9 are still here then Ings Cornet can’t be counted can they? The others aren’t here. Nor will Paq and poss Aguerd come the summer. Who did they sell? Is that ...

Re: Declan Rice

:cried: Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't it because we overspent significantly in the 22/23 season (£140 million net spend, roughly) and had to rein it in a bit for FFP? Can't argue with that. Out of Grealish and Rice, who's looking value for money? I thought the reason we ‘had’to move was to ...

Re: Declan Rice

As much as Bobby Moore was my hero and pretty much the sole reason for me following this great club of ours, didn't he almost leave us for The Spuds at some point? I know he didn't and the rest is history, but he still could have been an early Declan Rice situation. For what it's worth, I've no ani...

Re: Declan Rice

One of the rare occasions when West Ham got full dollar for a big home grown talent and haven't immediately piss it up the wall on utter gash. In that way our summer transfer work was shockingly unlike The West Ham Way. (To be totally fair to Moyes and whomever is doing the leg work we've signed so...

Re: Declan Rice

When Bobby left us at the end of his career and played for Fulham none of us booed him at the 75 cup final. He was still our player (in a sense) and it was great to see him on the pitch (of course we didn't want to see Fulham beat us but our historic relationship with him ruled out any any feelings...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Everyone has a right to complain when you pay what is required in the PL. I dont understand this thinking. If they got relegated and you were paying championship prices, would that be ok? Not sure what difference the ticket price makes? Im guessing Lutons tickets have gone up and Forest, does that ...

Re: Plastic fantastic

I've read this numerous times before responding but it still comes across as victim blaming. Am i missing something? As for the question posed by the OP... no of course he's not wrong and it saddens me constantly that a minority of football fans view it differently. Everyone welcomed as far as I'm ...

Re: Plastic fantastic

I have been to Juve and Lazio in the past couple of months, i was a tourist, but i have to say. the atmosphere was very partizan, just like 20 years ago. This created a buzz. but it does come with all the stuff that Premier league is trying to eradicate. There were choice comments and songs, some in...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

This will freak you out I have something good to say about the bowl. I used the accessibility minibus from Stratford International today with the old man. The service was great, free and all the people involved were very helpful. Its one and only thing i have found so far that is done well and seems...

We didn't play with a low block yesterday. I dont know why these new fangled phrases have turned up. Whatever the **** it was, it was *****! Its the only chance of any kind of success this year and tehy should have been up for it and on teh front foot, low block, high block? its all b*llocks isnt i...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

In fact is they wont do anything they promised. They wont improve the ground (world class is the phrase they used i think) and they wont get West Ham in the Champs league, tehy didnt look after the old businesses and they wont re create the match day experience. The last two summer transfer windows ...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Ooops, sorry Major missed this. For your average fan, i would say that 1,2,3, 4,10,14,15 are debatable (very much so in my opinion but its just an opinion) The rest is all about money and as we all know the 3 ***** have hardly re invested in the club have they? And if whatever extra revenue they do...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

I can tell you one good thing for free. For the much-maligned "better transport links", being able to get a 6-minute train from St Pancras to Stratford International makes my journey to and from home games much quicker and less hassle than Upton Park was. As an example of a con to that, w...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Are you going to name these 10 great things about the new place or not? Upton Park didnt need any of the things you mention apart from maybe the pubs, that are still not past there best, they are pubs, proper pubs and the staple businesses like Nathans, Kens, the chip shop, the working mans club. It...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Major, genuine question -as and when this mob eventually do f**k off in to the sunset, do you think the damage done can be repaired? In your view, what would it take to make things better? Not perfect cos that's never going to happen and we all have our own opinions on what that would look like. Be...
