Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

This made me laugh about Upson .. Stoke chairman Peter Coates told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's a player that we're interested in, but I can't tell you how talks are going. "He'd give us good cover, in fact he could play, he'd be good competition for a defensive place in the team." So he's ...

Re: Kia, Sheff Utd, McCabe and arbitration

What I can't understand about this "judgement" is that they specifically refer to us gaining 3 points over the last 2 games of the season. By that time the illegal deal with Joorabchian's companies had been terminated and our ownership of Tevez had been ratified by the FA, to the extent th...

Re: Villareal Tickets

You're not alone. My son & I are season ticket holders. No new season tickets, no Villareal tickets. If nothing arrives before the weekend I will just go to the TO at the ground with proof that I bought the tickets (got my CC statement - that should do) and ask them to sort it. Had the same last...

Re: Summer transfer talk/rumours

SSN reporting that we are interested in Kevin Doyle for 7.5 million! :? FFS, why do the news media keep linking us with Reading players? Our business plan is based around being top 6 and european qualification every season. With the possible exception of Shorey, who in Reading's squad is going to h...

To those who are blaming Curbs - get real. This is Pards team, something has gone seriously wrong this season, and things will only improve once Curbs gets rid of some of those players and brings in his own. The team was inconsistent under Pardew. Under Curbishley they've been total s***. I was at ...

I think the only real debate is over the midfield. I think Pards will start Bowyer on the right and Yossi on the left as he prefers experience to youth. The problem with that would be that neither is really a winger and both will come inside. I would prefer to see Kyel Reid on the left with Yossi re...

Does anyone know if this was a full stregnth PAOK team or did they include a lot of reserve players like we did?

If they were at full strength I think our squad gave a pretty good account of itself (at least until the substitutions started).

I'm not sure he was played as DM. IMO he doesn't have enough physical power to play there. Could a midfield partnership made of NRC and Noble hold anything in the Prem? Need to be clear what we mean by holding midfield player. Mark played in the holding role last night much like Carrick does - not ...

Good news about Noble, how big of a role do you think he will play in the upcoming season, could he be a first team player at the start of the season or at the end of it or will he best be suited coming off the bench for now. Good question. The problem we have is who would he replace? Pards needs t...

A few thoughts (which to be honest aren't much different from Billericay Hammer). A great night out. We played some fantastic stuff at times, sometimes it really was sublime, though it helped that Cambridge weren't really at the races. Tompkins continues to impress. Is he ready for the first team? I...

Yep, Clarke was awful. Quite impressed with James Tompkins though. Looks a real prospect.

Did anyone else think Deano looked about a stone lighter than last season ?

So is this going to become the official match thread ?

If so I'd just like to say I want to see Pards put on his boots and a West Ham shirt and turn out against his old mate Hessenthaler's side. :D

Failing that I'm looking forward to seeing the new signings so I hope they all get a run out.

Is there a particular stand most of you lot will be in does anyone know? Brian Moore stand is for away supporters. When I 'phoned Gillingham last week they said they had no tickets for away supporters and that I should contact West Ham, which I did. They said that they would only be selling tickets...
