Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen
I think his performance last night has really boosted his chances of making the England squad in the summer. During his first few England performances, he looked a tad out of place, but last night the biggest compliment I can give to him is that he belonged there alongside the likes of Bellingham an...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Would be interesting to hear from anybody who went to the game tonight regarding the atmosphere. Looked lively to say the least.

Re: (WHU related) FA CUP Lack of semi final appearances.
Bloody hell. Just bread through most of this thread. The bloke who said something like "the one thing every loser's got is an excuse" wasm't far wrong was he. 100% this. It's an atrocious record and for us not to have gone on an FA Cup run long enough to reach a semi-final since 2006 is p...

Bit harsh. He's not been scoring but he's certainly been contributing to goals.

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse
Thinks he was trying to shield the ball and get on the half turn so it's a little harsh. Just got it wrong. I quite possibly am, but I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if a similar situation didn't happen two weeks ago. I like him and think he's a good professional with some top-le...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
Okay? I have said that the balls into him were not clever (moreso Zouma's. Today he could have quite easily played a first time ball to Zouma instead of hanging on to it). He is clearly not yet up to speed, which is no surprise.

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse
I don't think he was particularly good or bad today but it isn't the first time he's half-heartedly gone into a challenge that has resulted in a goal for the opposition. I think he is often far too safe on possession also, even when he can inevitably see someone making a run. Look at how Alvarez pic...

Our best player today. Classy in possession and robust out of it.

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
I've seen a few comments trying to defend him and, while the balls to him have been suspect (more so against Bournemouth than today's), he needs to take ownership of his mistakes.
Poor start to his loan spell for him.

Re: Greatest African Player of all Time?
My instant reaction to this is always Drogba, but players like Yaya Toure and Salah have been the outright best players in the league - African or otherwise - in a given year, whereas I don’t think he ever was. Eto’o probably had the starriest career but it just doesn’t feel like the right answer f...

Re: Divin Mubama
Lads 19 I think it is a bit early to be putting a line through his name, for comparison Harry Kane was on loan at Millwall, following a loan at Leyton Orient and then still had loans at Norwich and Leicester before getting into the Spurs first time and not scoring his first goal until he was 20, an...

Re: Divin Mubama
I don't see anything in Mubama's game that suggests he's going to make it at this level. Usually with young strikers there are tangible signs that they've got potential but disappointingly I don't see any.
Needs to go on loan to a lower league club to learn the trade.

9 for the season after taking a while to break into the starting XI.
20 goals between he and Bowen. With the amount of games potentially left to play we could feasibly see them both hit 20 each. I've not seen one player hit 20 in my time supporting West Ham (in the top flight).

Re: ✍ Welcome Edson Álvarez
A statement game from him last night.
He is a big miss when he is injured or suspended, not only because he himself is missing, but because we have no like-for-like back up. We need to get that sorted in January.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
In reality, we have played one good half of football in the last two or three months. I believed it was only a matter of time before a better side put us to the sword - I just didn't expect that to be Fulham. Having no back-up to Alvarez is really poor planning, as Soucek-JWP as a pairing at the bas...

Re: Fixtures this weekend and onwards - 2nd - 7th Dec
Unbelievably jealous of Aston Villa and their approach to football matches. They don't fear anyone and believe they can win every match playing high-tempo, progressive but also easy on the eye football. Fair play.
