Why?
Mostly due to the lack of Noble who tends to play like the actual Pirlo and tear their midfield a new arse'ole whenever we play them.

Re: England v Montenegro

Other than TV income for governing body there is absolutely no point playing a team as poor as Montenegro, international football arranged like this is pointless, teams should play their peers or its not sport, just commerce.

Re: David Gold

Any chance a mod could shut this thread, I am all for discussing if DG should still speak for West Ham as he is getting on and can appear a bit out of touch but there are at least three posters on here wishing him dead, which is absolutely unacceptable no matter what he is supposed to represent to t...

Reid and Oggy at the back and move Diop forward to play alongside Rice? Maybe? Or not?
Diop needs to sit out half a dozen games, not be moved into a more vulnerable position where his lack of awareness would be further exposed. But I am all for replacing the current pairing with Reid and Ogbonna.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

The number of boozers in the area is on the decline like everywhere I suppose. The Bird and Baby (guvnor is a ST holder) is apparently being knocked down with flats being build. Ye Olde Green Dragon still remains a traditional boozer, coincidently run by the ex for the Bird and Baby. The guy who ow...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

Year after year after year etc. we go through the same sh*t with a once in a blue moon good season. It's been going on since I first went and that was when Bobby was a young man. Will it ever change? Nah. Exactly. I can't see us going down, but then I couldn't see us doing much in the last season a...

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

I'm not so sure Dave. He isn't going to spend too much of his money, that's for sure, but I do kind of believe he believed he could trade his way to a CL spot - delusional maybe, dreamlike, certainly. His problem, with each passing year, is it really isn't getting any closer. If all he wanted to do...

Re: Why are we shot to bits ?

Out of form Noble and Rice, missing Fabianski and Antonio, plus Pellers picking the wrong full backs.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

The Saint-Maximim counter attack was like the bad old days at the end of Bilic's reign. In particular the Liverpool game where we lost 4-1 at home. We had a corner and 5 seconds later they had a 3 on 1 counter attack which Salah scored from. https://youtu.be/JyaoE96rNMA There's an argument that Fre...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

I had hoped that VAR would eliminate the ability that the big clubs have had to pay refs which I am certain has been happening for years. The fact that they took ages to not give a penalty which was quite clear yesterday after the handball yesterday just reinforces my opinion that our whole referee...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

no one wants moyes back just saying he got arnie playing and didn't have the money pelle has to spend nor the salary ! Exactly, credit where it is due Moyes got not only Arnie playing to his full potential but also Lanzini, Arthur and Joao Mario, I dont agree with people who say he played negativel...

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

This is right on the nail. Expect a sale after March 2023 or he will hand over to his sons. Golds daughters said they not interested. Also the playing squad is £ 200m-£300m, so that's what he would get, there's nothing else of value at West Ham, maybe the training ground is £ 5m. The value of any p...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

Seems to me that we have a structural issue in the team shape attacking and defending. We looked at our best when we had a forward who could run in behind or play facing our midfield, Arnie gave us those options. I don't think Haller does, he seems to favor dropping short to pick the ball up and tha...

Re: The lies that tarnished West Ham's good name

But none of the rulings were actually Mccabes fault though were they? He fought for his club (and his own money). If the boot was on the other foot do we think that West Ham would have behaved any more honourably? In so much as Mccabe took the action he did the rulings were 100% as a result of his ...
