RIP Steve Harley - Make me Smile is pretty close to making my desert Island Disc list (even if he was 'wall).

To get the ball in the net four times and only draw 1-1 must have done Moyesies swede in.

Re: Nottingham Forest Deducted 4 points

Is there a fine attached? Remember we got stuffed for £24m over Tevez etc, the PL could do worse than fine Forest, Everton, Chelsea and City on top of the points deduction and sprinkle the cash down the divisions.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Sundays game reminded me of the old "New York boxing rules". Which was that a European boxer had to knock out the Yank boxer to get a draw at the garden. Anyone else fed up with celebrating a goal only to have to wait five minutes for our joy to be squashed by the plumbs on VAR. To my way ...

Re: Dear Citizens of the Peoples Republic of KUMB

Ad Hominem is the dish of the day in debate these days. Background, it got turbo charged in 2013 when Twitter added likes and shares which a Professor at Harvard noted coincided with his students changing from debating points/issues to attacking him as the speaker as a "hater", quickly tur...

I have similar memories gaffer. That, and him being a drug pusher. Plus making thousands of pounds off the back of it. Apparently a real stand up guy nowadays though. :newthumb: I don't say that, what I said was he is truthful in the TV series we make with him. You want to wind your neck in, you mi...

Watched 3 episodes of SAS last night got hooked, probably watch the rest tonight Strange choice of background music, acdc clash and the damned but enjoyed it Its his signature, contemporary tunes in period pieces, he did the same with Peaky Blinders. I watched the first ep, enjoyed it, but I thought ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I agree with this, but this pre-season was concerning when the team clearly wasn't prepared appropriately for the first game and it took us 3-4 before we were up to speed. Not sure if it was to do with the change of coaches etc. but something went awry. I put had that down to the massive squad chan...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The nail that finished off Pellegrini was Roberto. It pretty much obliterated all his credibility. It was that, the idea that anyone, let alone a professional coach thought Roberto a "good keeper" is beyond all understanding. Also the team was then playing like they'd never met each other...

Re: ⚽ Manchester United vs West Ham United: match thread

Game of two defences, ours made a critical error that led to a goal, theirs didn't when under far more pressure than ours. Otherwise there was nothing between the teams.

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-

Here's another easy fix. If you have an appointment - turn up. If you don't need it, cancel it. People really ought to start taking responsibility for their (in)actions, rather than blame a system. Turn up if you are able, and cancel if you are able. I would be interested to know what proportion of...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs Silkeborg IF: match thread

Job jobbed. Not an exciting game, the opposition didn't want to concede to many so sat deep the entire game, but an ultra professional if frustrating game. I can't see any big takeaway's other than Benrahma and Fornals missed some pretty meat and potatoes chances to work the keeper, it doesn't matte...

you should probably know the answer to that question...but not a lot of minutes for sure. there certainly isnt a great amount of evidence there to prove they do or dont work together. It's every year though right? We had an 'are you envious of Wolves?' thread two years ago. Not long ago it was "why can't we be more like Swansea/Leicester/Brentford." Starting to feel like we're so used to long-suffering that it's our default. It's a relentless list of Johnny come lately...

That's just not true though - in a good company, with a good boss this might be the case; but in an exploitive company (think the likes of 'spoons, Sports Direct, large swathes of fast food and retail) or with a dick of a boss you're up against favouritism, whims, politics etc Totally correct, my f...

Yesterday?? He has been doing it for almost 18 months now getting worse and worse It's pathetic to watch a man of his size go down so easy and theatrically It is standard for forwards to try and "buy" fouls these days, I don't like it but they all do it. What I cannot understand from Mond...
