Re: West Ham United v West Bromwich Albion: FAC4R Match Thread

A bit of rotation required.

3-5-2: Randolph; Diop, Balbuena, Reid; Antonio, Fornals, Sanchez, Noble, Masuaku; Haller, Ajeti.
Subs: Martin, Cardoso, Cresswell, Zabaleta, Rice, Lanzini, Ngakia.

Sub Antonio for Zab after an hour.

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

Moyes's bankers are:

Brighton H
Burnley H
Norwich A
Watford H
Villa H

Four wins and a draw = 17 points = 40 in total.

Unless we manage some other wins then it could come down to winning two out of our last three games. Squeak

Re: Leicester City v West Ham United: Match Thread

RB/RWB is the most problematic position: Zaba will surely be struggling to make it to HT without his legs going and, without Fredericks or Antonio, we don't have options. He might have to start Cresswell at RB and Masuaku at LB. Or Fornals at RWB? I wonder whether Sanchez might start instead of Nobl...

Re: West Ham United v Everton: Match Thread

We really seemed to suffer in the second half from the pressing we did in the first. With the lack of attacking options on the bench I am a bit surprised Moyes didn't play 3 at the back, especially given they went 4-4-2. Given Everton are our bogey side then the point is not a disaster. Bournemouth,...

Re: West Ham United v Everton: Match Thread

Scrappy from both sides. We should push Rice higher up the pitch to deal with Davies. Without an oppo AM we can leave Noble at DM to do his cockney Pirlo thing.

I wonder whether Ancelotti will sub Kean and change formation at HT.

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

Norwich are gone. Then it’s two of Bournemouth, Villa, Burnley and us, IMO. Watford will stay up comfortably now and Brighton and Newcastle will just about have enough to pull a few results out of the bag. Newcastle have either got the best finishers ever, or they've been lucky. They scored with th...

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

I think Moyes got the shape right, but Cresswell was the wrong choice at CB given they play two big lads up front. Fornals being benched was odd. Unless he had a knock then he should have started ahead of Lanzini. Noble was dreadful. Simply too slow to make any defensive impact and did next to nothi...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

On an 18 month contract, Moyes is not going to be allowed any big money, long term signings: it will be loans, temp-to-perms, shorter-term deals, cheap youths and back-ups only. So prepare for the likes of: Randolph > Roberto Murray (loan) > Ajeti Ashley Young 18 month deal Nzonzi (£5m, same contrac...

If Roma are happy to cut their losses on Nzonzi then I can see us taking over his contract (ends June 22) with an option for another year.

Re: Gillingham v West Ham United: FAC3 Match Thread

Solid job tonight. Only downside was Fredericks doing his hammy; let's hope it's not too bad. Arfur didn't have his best day going forward but I thought we looked comfortable enough in the new formation. Lanzini did better today defensively than I have seen all season, but Snodders didn't do much. J...

Re: Gillingham v West Ham United: FAC3 Match Thread

I think Moyes will consider the impact of a player getting an injury when selecting his starting XI for this game. So he might risk Martin, but not Fabianski, Ogbonna but not Haller, and so on. Personally, I would like to see Rice getting a rest: perhaps we could try Diop as DM with the option of sw...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Bournemouth: Match thread (01/01)

Thought Cresswell might have got off on a technicality, but I think it was lucky that the VAR official saw it differently: "SERIOUS FOUL PLAY A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Any player who lu...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Bournemouth: Match thread (01/01)

We were good and we were lucky and Bournemouth were awful (3rd time this season that they have had 3 shots or fewer).

Hopefully, fitness/injuries will allow Moyes to field a strong side against Gillingham to help build on yesterday's win.

Both sides in poor form, Bournemouth have a long injury list, score a lot from set pieces and are a bit of a bogey side for us.

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Anyone else get the feeling that Benitez told Sullivan to come back in the summer with a budget like Pelle when he signed? An 18 month deal seems like insurance in case Benny sacks us off again, with a bigger pay off for Moyes if he doesn't. Senior players will be key for Moyes this season. If they ...
