Re: Israel
I can completely understand why Israel want to retaliate. The Iranian state is an abomination and they have been orchestrating violence against Israel for years. But to my mind it’s a time for restraint rather than escalation. Iran have already strengthened Netanyahu - who is a corrupt leader clingi...

You think the solution to the problems in the Middle East is a nuclear strike on Iran?the pink palermo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 9:04 pm i assume you would prefer to wait for Iran to finish developing their nuclear capability, then decide what the best course of action is ?

Re: Israel
The gloves are now off, Iran has had to come out from behind its proxy agents and reveal who has really been fighting Israel since Oct 7th and previously. Between 400 and 500 drones have been launched at Israel. We can expect, and i would support, a massive retaliatory response from Israel. Even th...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread
I don’t get the criticism of the wolves disallowed goal. He was standing in front of the keeper when the ball came across. How is that not interfering? On MOTD they said that Fabianksi could have moved. If he has to move because of a player offside and standing in front of him, then that is interfer...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
Because we need to protect Antonio. There are much more important games coming up where he could be a key player. And it has worked in the past, like when Paqueta was switched to false nine. Howe actually got lucky as he only brought Barnes on due to injury to another sub! Great being Moyes, always...

Why always KP?Ironing Board wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 2:52 pm Phillips did nothing wrong when he came on. Fact is, he was the person who was wronged by the referee and the morons in VAR and should be getting defended rather than slagged off.

We can only go on the evidence we have and there's simply nothing to suggest he can get to that level again.the pink palermo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:22 pm I am still of the opinion that a fully fit Kalvin Phillips is a better DM than Alvarez.

Re: Books you are reading
Can anyone recommend any good crime fiction? Either US/American or in translation? It's a genre i've neglected over the years but am delving into it a little. I've read one Ian Rankin and didnt like that at all.

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady
How many supporters like their owners? In my life time, I don't think there has ever been a time at West Ham where people have been happy with the board. Sullivan is a complete prick. We all know it but he isn't going anywhere and even if he was the chances are that we would be sold to some other cl...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
I’m going to go all out here. I think he’s a brilliant player and we need to persevere with him. He has an excellent range of passing and I think he covers a lot of ground. Stick with him, when we get to Europe at the end of the month, if he’s match fit, I really think he’ll make the difference in ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I don't disagree that Zouma is past his best, but i think it's harsh to suggest that we dont have players that show passion and desire. Look at Coufal, Paqueta, Bowen and Kudus, Soucek, Antonio, Alvarez even JWP. Their work rate on the pitch is there, even if the results haven't been. Just as a cou...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I don't think now is the time to sack Moyes. I just don't see what's to be gained at this moment but i wouldn't be offering him a new deal right now either. If we keep losing then the board will have no choice but to pull the trigger. I think he's done a fantastic job but has lost the plot in 2024. ...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
I think he looked ok today but he has made two serious errors in previous games and his second challenge, which may not have connected, was a bit of a lunge. The red was the last thing we neeed. I just don't feel comfortable with a midfled with both him and Alvarez, and in my mind, Alvarez, does not...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread
My guess is Moyes told them he cannot afford to lose them, which caused the supposed “administrative problem.” When they discovered they couldn’t get away with it they had to release the players. Meanwhile, they will find it hard to sack Moyes as this is a large part of the issue we have at the mom...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread
a midfield of JWP, Phillips and Alvarez is never going to work. I personally think JWP is looking like a very limited player at the moment.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
We need a manager who refuses to sign an NDA, which won’t happen Moyes, like SA, has been utterly hung out to dry. Yes, he’s struggled big time these last couple of months, but he doesn’t deserve the way he’s been treated, it’s appalling. The playing squad are quite clearly as disillusioned as the ...
