We can only go on the evidence we have and there's simply nothing to suggest he can get to that level again.

Re: Books you are reading

Can anyone recommend any good crime fiction? Either US/American or in translation? It's a genre i've neglected over the years but am delving into it a little. I've read one Ian Rankin and didnt like that at all.

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady

How many supporters like their owners? In my life time, I don't think there has ever been a time at West Ham where people have been happy with the board. Sullivan is a complete prick. We all know it but he isn't going anywhere and even if he was the chances are that we would be sold to some other cl...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips

I’m going to go all out here. I think he’s a brilliant player and we need to persevere with him. He has an excellent range of passing and I think he covers a lot of ground. Stick with him, when we get to Europe at the end of the month, if he’s match fit, I really think he’ll make the difference in ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I don't disagree that Zouma is past his best, but i think it's harsh to suggest that we dont have players that show passion and desire. Look at Coufal, Paqueta, Bowen and Kudus, Soucek, Antonio, Alvarez even JWP. Their work rate on the pitch is there, even if the results haven't been. Just as a cou...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I don't think now is the time to sack Moyes. I just don't see what's to be gained at this moment but i wouldn't be offering him a new deal right now either. If we keep losing then the board will have no choice but to pull the trigger. I think he's done a fantastic job but has lost the plot in 2024. ...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips

I think he looked ok today but he has made two serious errors in previous games and his second challenge, which may not have connected, was a bit of a lunge. The red was the last thing we neeed. I just don't feel comfortable with a midfled with both him and Alvarez, and in my mind, Alvarez, does not...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread

My guess is Moyes told them he cannot afford to lose them, which caused the supposed “administrative problem.” When they discovered they couldn’t get away with it they had to release the players. Meanwhile, they will find it hard to sack Moyes as this is a large part of the issue we have at the mom...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread

a midfield of JWP, Phillips and Alvarez is never going to work. I personally think JWP is looking like a very limited player at the moment.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We need a manager who refuses to sign an NDA, which won’t happen Moyes, like SA, has been utterly hung out to dry. Yes, he’s struggled big time these last couple of months, but he doesn’t deserve the way he’s been treated, it’s appalling. The playing squad are quite clearly as disillusioned as the ...

Re: Books you are reading

Manuel Puig = Kiss Of The Spiderwoman I really loved this formally experimental and layered story - told mostly through dialogue - of two prisoners in an Argentinian jail in the 70s. Excellent book. fantastic book. There is an excellent biography of Puig by a writer whose name i can't remember, but...

we were missing some key players for a while but he's the only real absence as of today. However, all teams lose their best players at some point - we haven't just had a dip in form, we have dropped off a cliff edge.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think he’s gone a bit mental. It started by rolling over in the cup 1/4 final. I reckon we will prove to be one of the worst teams in the league in 2024. Hapless. And those man will lose us Paquetta and Kudos. Real shame. yes, he's just messing up the side unnecessarily. We didn't look prepared f...

Aside from an 18 month hiatus, Moyes has been our manager for almost 6 years. Are we really going to absolve him of any blame for the squad we have?

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Moyes has totally lost the plot this year by completely messing up that midfield. Are we serioulsy going to play two DMs in every game now? it might make sense if it made us look strong at the back but we look clueless. There's zero link between midfield and attack.

Quite. He knew what he was getting into when he came back. It can't have been so bad if he decided to return.

Can anyone explain why Moyes came back to West Ham if the board are such a mess?
