Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I love it. Brereton has been compared to Ashton, Antonio, Arnautovic, Bowen, and Kane. I'm glad we're not setting our expectations too high. Having watched some Chilean commentary of his international goals I'm 100% convinced he'll be a cult hero. "Grande! Grande! Big Ben! Big Ben!". I'm ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I believe Moyes when he says that his preferred targets may not be available in this window. The question is whether he should bend a bit and bring in alternative options this window that enhance the opportunities that present themselves to us. I think he wants Lingard and perhaps Tarkowski and I t...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

A dozen with premier league experience who we could sign tomorrow? Go on that should be fun... The Rome analogy is about looking long term. There will always be shortages and set backs, but if the long term position is improvement then you are winning. The short termism that has set in is one of th...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Suitable centre halves who will slot straight in? I've seen lots of posts about X player in France or Y player in Spain. How does that usually work out? Yes. I can list a dozen or so if you like? Rome wasn’t built in a day but I bet if they needed a suitable alternative to Michus Antonius up front ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

If you cannot find the right ready made solution then grow your own. I can get behind that. Now for three pages of "this isn't what we were promised when we moved" and "if we just spend £120m this window then we can cement our place in the top four" etc etc. I don’t think anyone...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Could just be me, but he seems very Dean Ashton-esque in some ways as well. Round shouldered and slightly lumpy looking. Choppy feet where he does that lay off, turn around and get on your bike thing Deano used to do, and a few examples of that power technique shot. I don’t think he’s good enough f...

As far as I'm aware, the only recent link came from Major. Not sure anything has been reported in the press or on social media, unless I've missed it.
The £40m Schick thing was doing the rounds before then. A week ago, Calcio Mercato mentioned it.

Re: Top Reds

Offspring of Championship Manager and FIFA Champ Man 20 odd years ago was absolute class. Nothing like taking Padova from Serie C2 to Champions League winner, with youth product wonderkid Gianpietro Zecchin in the midfield the whole time. Then asking for a few extra million in the budget, to furthe...

I would steer clear, 28 and never played for Brazil no thanks,

last Brazillian we had with little or no caps was Anderson and I said the same before we signed him,

if they are that good they would have plenty caps
Di Canio never played for Italy. Bonds and Noble never played for England.

Re: Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

Sometimes players are priceless. Rice and Bowen are so. Whether £60m or £200m is 'more' than they are worth and how you could theoretically use it to buy x amount of replacements and so on and so forth, you can't replace the innate value they have woven into the fabric of the Club. I wouldn't sell t...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I'm surprised we haven't brought Hlozek in. Would have thought that would be easy to facilitate and he fits what we need quite well. Perhaps Moyes doesn't rate him, and doesn't think he can play up front for us or make an impact from the wing.

Re: ✍ Alex Král

i don't quite know why people are comparing kral to lanzini? completely different roles. kral is more like soucek, a defensive midfielder who wins the ball and breaks down attacks. That's not Lanzini's game is it. You need different types of players for different games/teams. ok we went more attack...

Re: ✍ Alex Král

Seen him play, and get dropped for the performances, by his national team as well.

We can’t see him play for West Ham so long as there is someone better available who plays the same position.

Lanzini is better and so played against Norwich instead of Kral. It’s that simple really.

Re: ✍ Alex Král

Doesn’t have the technical ability to play for one of the better Premier League sides. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if we let his loan deal run out, he returns to Moscow and we sign him for chump change not long after rather than take up the option on him, which we obviously won’t at that price. H...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

This is such a cop out answer. It's well and good demanding we sign a striker but you can't even put one name forward? Clearly not very easy. Firstly, it’s not a cop out answer. It’s a logical and reasonable one. Secondly, what’s the point of asking him for a list of names, which is a much more unr...
