Re: Manuel Pellegrini sacked

The real problem, IMO, is that a) we should never have employed Pellegrini (a Sullivan vanity project) and b) he should have been sacked some 6 to 8 weeks before (when other Chairmen were being much more decisive). In both scenarios it is unlikely we would have had Moyes, but whoever was in charge t...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

F he’s going to go Uber-defensive, then why not at least put Bowen instead of Snodgrass or Noble just to try and keep their back four a bit honest. Our defence are vulnerable under pressure. He’s basically gone defence against attack Man City. I’m predicting a Premier league record-breaking amount ...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

The trouble with the Premiership version of VAR is that it seems to treat a match as an algorithm rather than a game. A shoelace or foot offside does not (IMO) provide an unfair advantage to the attacking side. An unintentional handball may not also give an unfair advantage (for a goal or penalty). ...

To be fair, I feel that the womens team is better generally managed, coached, scouted etc than the mens teams.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

I think the stadium is fine for sitting there and watching the game. Like being in the top teirs at the Boleyn. The problem is that there is no equivalent for the more vocal and active support of the lower tiers at the Boleyn. I think there is truth in that Ron. If it were me, I would be exploring ...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

Staying in the Premier League, means they can remain comfortable, which means they can carry on as they are. Dropping a division, probably won't see them sell up and move on, but it will force them to act, they won't be able to sit and collect the riches of the Sky Premier League, and it will make ...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

Do you really believe that Ozza, or is it more hope? If their main motivation is money, then they are much, much better off in the Premiership. The Championship only devalues their assets. As I have said previously, they have more money than they know what to do with and extra zillions now will prov...

When fit, he has probably been one of the best centre halves we have had in the past 30 years. Best of luck Winston.

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

I tend to agree that Di Canio was (and is) a much better player for West Ham than Payet. However, he is as mad as a sack full of cats and never in a million years should he ever, ever be near our club again.

Re: David Sullivan - Has he taken us as far as he can ?

^^^^^ CNR, I tend agree with your views of the board, but believe your views of Bilic somewhat clouded. He was found very wanting in his last season and the majority on here found his team selection, tactics and substitutions unfathomable. I would also add (IMHO) that similar to Pellegrini that wait...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

Good post DL. I personally find it quite odd that some seem to be viewing previous relegations through claret and blue specs. The Championship and Division One is full of so called 'big clubs', with equally great traditions, wallowing in obscurity - for years. Perhaps, its a bit like therapy for tho...

Re: Possible Takeover Bid ?

Now here is a depressing game. Firstly - what do you think the chance of GSB still (or not) being here in 5 years time? Then - what are the chances of them selling to someone reasonably 'good' ? Then - whoever they sell to, what are the chances of them redeveloping the ground or building a new groun...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Crikey, are we still debating David Moyes appointment? He has only been here 5 minutes. I understand that some didn't want him anyway and some did, but isn't it sensible to give whoever a chance until the end of season, bearing in mind the **** they took over? I have no idea if Moyes will work out g...

Re: Possible Takeover Bid ?

I have been following this thread and it seems to me more wishful thinking than actual 'take over'. Whoever may be successful in ' taking us over' will be only those seeking a profitable return!!! Do you disagree? I must admit, that personally, I see no profitable return in buying us for several mil...

Ancelotti’s stats are something like 1 loss in the last 7 for Everton while Moyes’s are 1 win in 7.

You get what you pay for.
Oh, if only that were true! Pellegrini??

Re: Protests against the board being planned

As a previous 'Corporate Dinosaur', I find our boards response, quite frankly, stupid and infantile. Take it from me they are really, really rattled. They have thrown back all of the usual 'corporate' **** - denial, self affection, self aggrandisement, insults (to key stake holders) etc. etc. Instea...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

The problem for David Moyes is, I believe, being in 'association' with the board. For me, he comes across as honest, hardworking and not without experience and expertise. Compared to previous managers however, I actually feel more confident with him. Some may feel that wrong or irrational, but I tru...

Re: WH Holding Ltd accounts released

So if someone were to give them 25m tomorrow, they could **** off having made 18m out of it all (plus I'd assume a wage of some kind along the way). They are bound to make oodles of money. And, as I suggested previously, like most Premiership clubs, ownership is usually through a Limited Company ra...
