Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Agree, but if your main target is not available then you’ve got to have a plan b. Otherwise we’d find it difficult signing anyone. Plan b might not be any better than our first choice 11, but if they are a step up from the usual suspects on the bench it’s got to be an option. Just my way at looking...

Re: ✍ Nikola Vlasic

I think he has been playing very well and begining to show his quality. A ricket yesterday, but he wasnt the only one.

Re: Which is the odd one out?

To be fair, many of those were on their last legs anyhow and probably wouldnt have survived. Indeed, I thought a couple had already gone (?).

Legends for me are your Billy Bonds, Bobby Moores and Trevor Brookings of this world. Does Michail belong in that category? No from me. He's more a cult hero than legend imo.
Whole heartedly agree.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

If we are being brutally honest the score line flattered us. We should’ve lost a lot more comfortably than we did. They missed 2 good chances before half time, had a goal ruled out for offside, Raphinha hit the bar/post from a freekick. And that’s just off the top of my head! We were extremely luck...

Re: Issa Diop

My problem with Diop isn't just this game though. He has been struggling all season and (IMHO) getting steadily worse. For those of us at the game it was obvious his confidence was totally shot. Nothing against the lad who I am sure is a nice bloke with maybe the talent to succeed somewhere and find...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

As a bit of perspective, apart from Newcastle and Aston Villa (none of whom they have bought I would want here), has any other club strengthened significantly so far this window or bought a player we should have attempted to purchase?

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs

I agree that some are being a little harsh on Fabianski. I think it is true (?) that he is 2nd or 3rd in saves made this season, which is both good and worrying if he has to make that many! Moyes does have a problem though in keeping Areola happy. He seems a fine keeper, good enough for the Premiers...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

Are we deluding ourselves just a bit with our expectations? When the only cavalry you can call on to get a result and consolidate a top 4 spot consists of Masuaku, Yarmalenko and Perkins it adds a real dollop of perspective to our position.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

Sorry, but Coufal being meh, Cresswell poor and Diop being a major issue for all goals is wrong. First, poor from Cresswell, the next bit was them beating us to the next ball and a nice finish. Second. Cresswell awful and Coufal playing everyone onside while putting his hand up for offside. Third. ...

Re: Issa Diop

A lot of people are obsessed with him and at times it's like he's the only West Ham player that ever makes mistakes - which after a car crash performance like today's is pretty absurd. Diop was pretty crap today, but Cresswell, Coufal and Dawson were all worse and each made at least one mistake big...

You may have a point, but Diop wasn't responsible for our defeat today was he?
He contributed to it in a big way unfortunately. He was dreadful. I agree others didn't shine but he was so bad I was embarrassed for him.

Re: Issa Diop

Thankfully I don't think we will see him in a West Ham shirt again. Probably the worst performance I have seen from a West Ham player in over 40 years. His confidence is shot to ****.

Both defences are very poor. This could end up 5-5.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

It all depends on how patient we wish to be. Lets be fair, Moyes is gambling with his job/career as well. We appear to be building a decent club/squad/team now capable of sustaining top 10 finishes and competing for Europe and Cups on a regular basis. One or two bad/panic signings could set us back....

Re: Declan Rice

For me, this summer will tell us everything about Dec's future and our club as a whole. I feel this is his watershed moment. He has the opportunity to stay with us, become club captain and legend, moulding a team around him and having a big say in our future. It will mean the club making him the hi...

Big mistake, if Noble starts we will get battered by their pace.
Most of their pace is down the wings.

I can see Zouma starting (for Diop). But then same starting line up as Wednesday, assuming Soucek still out, otherwise he plays and Fornals to bench.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Watched the Luton v Bournemouth game today.

Kelly looked very good on the ball, but awful defensively (worse than Diop). Might have caught him on a bad day?
