Re: STB

My hero too.
A true gentleman when I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Trev 13 years ago. He was my boyhood hero and is such in very middle age.
Will always be Mr West Ham United to me.
Happy Birthday Sir Trev!

Re: 1989/90 season revisited

I really enjoyed going at this time. Although we were in turmoil and Lou Macari wasn't exactly the perfect replacement for John Lyall, there was a weird kind of spirit against adversity that still lives with me today. I look at that North Bank in the clip and it makes me happy.

Re: I just wanted to say goodbye

One of my all time favourites is Ginge. He 'got us' totally and was a warrior on the pitch.
I would love to see him back in some capacity.

See him in the 71-72 season and can always remember how calm he was on the ball, never wasted a pass and his tackling was second to non, could never believe how big his legs were, strange that.
Can also now see a lot of Bobby in young Rice today.
As do I mate.

Thanks for the feedback, JBB. It all helps paint a picture. To hopefully help assuage any concerns, the site is constantly being monitored since being moved to the new server/s. Both I and our tech team are well aware of the issues (believe me, I've been constantly on their case and to their...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

I have said it before but it is true. We will never see another Brooking, Devonshire, Bonds, Martin, Noble ever again. I would love to add Declan Rice alongside Noble as he is a captain in waiting, but unless we deliver top 6 status, and that might not be enough, I think he will go in the next coupl...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

Lads, it's Man Utd! Quite right. This will do the team the world of good confidence wise. We won that game at a resonably easy canter and although the quality wasn't great we know we have it when we turn it on. Right now we are in the best postion we have been in, in years. And I think we wil...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

This won't be popular, but 100% correct. You won't see many worse games, quality wise, in the PL. I have never seen a worse Man Utd team. Anderson was atrocious. Fornals showed absolutely nothing. I know he's young and new, but you always see aomething in a player. You see nothing in him as he has ...

Neville's determination to talk about "United" in all circumstances is quite comical
I don't mind Neville but it is like listening to a 'United' team talk for 90 minutes.
Fredericks off for Zabba. Had a good game did Ryan.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

If we up the tempo a bit we will win this comfortably.
I'm not sure if this good game management or just us being a bit off the required pace.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

Disappointed to hear about Lanzini but this is a bang average Man U side. I expect us to give this a real go and I think even without Manu, we have the personell to win this. Midfield will need to work their b*llocks off for 90 mins though.

The cuffing around the ear of the pitch invader and the applause he gave us West Ham United fans at that semi final at Villa Park.
