Re: Czech Republic vs England

I think we should walk off because they've refused to give us a competitive match! My God they're terrible. I've got no problem with our players walking off and ending the match.

Someone please stop Tyldesley from given us all a sermon on racial equality though

Re: lanzini no 10

watching the guy playing is so frustrating,i can see it the pundits can see it why is he constantly picking the ball up deep in is own half, cant the manager see that he needs to be nearer to haller to be a link up ,as in dare I say it alli with kane,he needs to be creating not passing the ball idew...

Re: If there was no West Ham ?

I live in York and go to York City matches sometimes, so they're kind of my second team at the moment. It would never be anything like the same though.

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

I love pellers but the fault lies with him. Those squad players are squad for a reason. He put a team out that should have beaten Oxford not a team that will. I definitely disagree with this. They were all players who easily have the ability to beat a League One team. If we had our respective team'...

Re: Too much money in football

It's a nice idea, BBb. In fact, there used to be a pay cap (£20/week) & a 29 year old Fulham player called Jimmy Hill, led a successful campaign to get rid of it in 1961. If a cap was brought in now, players would just probably move abroad where they could get much more. I tend to agree with you th...

Re: Too much money in football

That does show the class at the time. Nowadays would be a ditch Ferguson and smash and grab job for Banks. I've only ever grown up in the premier league era but the money has definitely changed the game, and most importantly, loyalty of any player or staff. A lot of the "loyalty" was forced. Stan Ma...

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

Anyone know if that is Oxford's strongest lineup? Shouldn't matter too much either way I guess considering our lineup. Just interested to see if they are bang up for it. Six changes for them, so I guess not. That's something people often ignore with the league cup- lower league teams often rest pla...

As much as I want to laugh at Spurs, we have to get through Oxford first
We'll get mocked if we lose either way, at least enjoy these 24 hours!

Re: Internationals this week

Euro Champs qualifying is always a little bit less competitive b/c more teams qualify vs World Cup, but our group is particularly easy this time round because the higher seeds Czech Rep, Bulgaria etc are having a particularly bad spell. Not all the groups are as easy as ours. France, Germany, Portu...

Re: Internationals this week

like last year ! we got done everytime we played anyone decent ! Last year we won a competitive game in Spain, a friendly in Holland and another competitive home game with Croatia. We reached a world cup semi final, only losing after extra time. The only other games we lost were two dead rubber wor...

Re: Internationals this week

I mean just me or that own goal very suspect Nope, it's surprisingly easy to do when you're anticipating contact by the goalkeeper. Still a bit embarassing at this level, but not quite as ridiculous as it first looks. ****ing hell how good is Sterling these days? Gotta be one of the top ten players...

Re: 'Hard Players' Still Lacking steel??

If someone has to be substituted because of a tackle, I can't help wondering about the 'legality' of that tackle. Definitely one we got away with, imo. And that's why I think, honestly, the way the game has changed isn't really a bad thing. It's great to see your player throwing himself into tackle...

Re: 'Hard Players' Still Lacking steel??

And then maybe a 'Softest West Ham 11' ? I'll bet a certain centre back from just a few years ago, who somehow managed to play for England, would be a lot of people's first name on that team! My first thought was Rebrov, such a cliche of a talented continental (though I doubt Ukraine is many people...

Re: England Versus Bulgaria

Kane’s penalty record is not as good as Noble’s though is it? Kane - 33 from 39 Noble - 36 from 40 Noble often manages to send keepers the wrong way. One method that a lot of keepers use to work out where a pen is going is to look at where the standing foot is pointing. Noble is superb and pointing...

Kosovo are available at a staggering 55-1 (unless my eyes are deceiving me).
Tempting.....
Just put a quid on at 60s with unibet (holy **** they have a terrible website) and 4 on the draw at 14s (which is my actual prediction).

Re: England Versus Bulgaria

rice did ok but against limited teams he needs to play faster and further up the field . He's comfortable playing higher up the pitch, he was just following his instructions out there- act as the anchor and give the other five forward, plus full backs, freedom to play high up. Bulgaria were pretty ...

Re: England Versus Bulgaria

- Kane’s penalties are better than Noble’s, but somehow Noble has a better percentage scored. I reckon he does the keeper with his eyes or something. It’s remarkable how often the keeper goes the wrong way for a Noble penalty. Yeah, the reason Noble is such a great penalty taker is the variety he h...

Re: England Versus Bulgaria

still struggling to see EXACTLY what Jordan Henderson brings to the team - other than running around a lot.... Do you ever watch Liverpool? He plays that central midfield role very well, bringing players into the game. He hasn't done well in this game so far but he is a good player. Great to watch ...

club first for me. west ham winning a cup would last for years compared to a few weeks of England winning the euro 2020. The qualifiers are a joke with an easy group for us. couldn't really care less about todays game other than rice not getting injured or tapped up by man utd players ! City is mor...

Can’t see a thread. So thought I would start one. Rice in for another cap? Things are much more interesting these days in regards to the England team :scarfer: Today I'd go ---------------Pickford A-A-----Maguire---Gomez---Chilwell ---------Rice------Henderson -------------Maddison ---Sancho---Kane...
