Re: The Energy Crisis

There is no right answer but moving onto the variable is probably the best play here. MSE was on the radio other day and he said if they offer you a fix thats 40% highter than current varaible rates then take it as in april its predicted to rise 45-50% (however he said this is all based on a lot of...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-2024

Labour's Toby Perkins says there will always be prime ministers "we disagree with" but says that there has never been one that "debased his office in the way this one has". He notes the PM was sacked from two previous jobs for lying - and asks why "the great office" of ...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-2024

For me its a lot about respectability I dont really want a tory government but accept that we have one. May you could respect at least you could see that she had her beliefs and stuck to them Cameroon whilst sodding up brexit he seemed as a MP a respectable (in office not uni rubbish) person Major a...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-2024

Governments lie all day everyday. I'm quite astounded by the shock everyone is portraying. that is beside the point really. people know governments lie however this was a once in a generation situation its almost like a world war.. it affects everyone... whole industry shut down to do something els...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-2024

It does make me angry the whole situation of how they could lie to the population and take everyone for mugs. End of day though no matter what they do people will forget about it in a few months. they will still either get back in or cause enough of a problem nothing will change the whole situation ...

Re: The Energy Crisis

After doing further sums I think a good investment for now would be a powerwall with solar Just one powerwall The key with powerwall is 5kw output at any one time .. that's 5 per powerwall so 3 would enable charging of the car and running the house However 13.5kw usable We average 25kw a day without...

Re: The Energy Crisis

are they not tho? you need to compare what the corsa E gets you in terms of features as they are pretty much top end of spec.. 134 BHP so they are not far behind the 1.4T in terms of a lot of things the features inside push the insurance up for sure.. not just the EV side (not by much) however peopl...

Sorry, I wasn't clear, I meant on Teslas.
lot of balancing with tesla tho, i mean service costs much lower for example

id love a telsa 3 but tbh the non telsa options are getting better and more cost effective

cant beat telsa network of chargers tho

Re: The Energy Crisis

mumbles87 I am confused as to why the determination on such a large power wall. If you have a good pv array this will run most of the equipment during the day with only some charge going to the batteries. If you install a ashp this will use up more power during daytime peak periods, even less charg...

I was told that if you prang it the cost of a replacement bumper or whatever is exorbitant as well, which plays into this.
maybe on telsas but not all cars as the others (like hyundai and kia are pretty much normal cars)

Re: The Energy Crisis

Not that mumbles will like this, one of the surveys/research pieces came out as having the Corsa E as the least VFM pound for pound of any electric vehicle once purchase price, running costs and depreciation are built in, and over an average three year life span, the total costs will be higher than...

Re: The Energy Crisis

What is the lifespan of the power wall? telsa guarantee them for 10 years , if you dont get 80% of your available within 10 years they replace them however they are rumored to last 15 years plus at a minimum they say the payback is average of 15 years so its considered a cost neutral investment Id ...

Re: The Energy Crisis

I don't think solar is the money making scheme it once was, thats not why we would do it anyway. We have some cash for work on the new house and wanted to spend some on things that will reduce some costs in the future. I think they talk about a lot longer than 5 years to break even. My logic may be...

Re: The Golf Thread

No complaints on the Lamkin grips. Feel pretty much the same as the Golf Pride maybe slightly more tackier but they are new so guess that will wear off I’ll persevere with Lamkins and then decide if I want to go back to the Golf Pride. Horses for courses really Yeah I guess you only notice too much...
