My befuddled mind is probably wrong but I thought the "Come and see City's superstars" advert occurred when we were still at Upton Park.
Yep, you're right it was at Upton Park.

Re: Michail Antonio

I've coated him plenty in the past for his attitude. Didn't like his demeanour under Bilic when he was looking very sulky on the pitch. However, now, fair do's he is giving it 100% when he's on the pitch. The really frustrating thing is that talent wise, Antonio is not exactly blessed. Where he's ma...

Re: The Golf Thread

Who on here is a member at a club? For me, its a no brainer if you find the track you like. Ive been a member at Peterborough Milton for 6 years, best course for miles around and love the benefits. I'm a member at Ashford Manor, been there about 4 years now. I was at Laleham for about 3 years befor...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

To put the fee into perspective.

Haller was transferred from Auxerre to FC Utrecht for £1.8M in 2015
In 2017 he went from Utrecht to E. Frankfurt for £7.2M
We've just paid £36M depending on what figure you believe.

Good scouting can save a lot of money.

Re: Open Golf + Prediction Comp

Thanks for running this again Souly and well done to you and Bubbles for the joint win.
Shame that Fleetwood wasn't able to mount much of a challenge on the Sunday, it just ended up a bit of a procession in the end. Still, some great golf by Lowry.

Re: The Golf Thread

Thought it probably would be Neil. Sounds like he's helped you out there with his couple of pointers. Amazing what a difference a couple of little tweaks make. I might try that out myself, my stance with the driver tends to be a bit narrow. I used to get over to the range at Sunbury quite a lot, but...

Re: The Golf Thread

Our pro is very 'player specific' in his tweaks. He had me widen my stance because it was too narrow, which I sort of suspected anyway (it makes it easier for me to achieve a full turn on the backswing, probably at the expense of stability). It wasn't a blanket "You must all widen your stance", far...

Re: The Mental Health Thread - (Help Contacts in First Post).

That is so sad. Says a lot about you that you can speak so positively about your ex wife after what must have been a very difficult break up. Hugely sad that she took her own life and left your boys without a mother. Wish you every strength moving forward and hope that some happy times are not far a...

Re: The Golf Thread

Glad I had a day off today, couldn't imagine walking 36 in this heat. 18 would have bee a struggle! Agreed, I was due to play a round today and thought better of it. 36 holes would have been hell on earth! Supposed to be cooler tomorow and plan on 18 holes in the afternoon, lookng forward to it. I ...

I cracked and went to bed in the end at 1.00 am, work this morning.
Really wish I could have stayed up and watched the end, it was great viewing.
Fair play to Woodland in seeing it out, I thought he'd wobble. Some great golf played.

Re: Two Pairs Of Nobodies (the European finals thread)

Football is in its way to becoming like Hockey, whereby deliberately playing the ball onto an opponent's foot in order to win a penalty corner is a skill. If refs are giving penalties for players deliberately playing the ball onto an opponent's arm is a penalty, you can be sure will see much more o...

Yeah the "Invincibles" season too. From memory we'd have gone 3-1 up if that went in. Instead we drew 2-2

Re: Huge rise in ST prices

Just renewed by phone on the dot at 9am, straight through after selecting option 1. Was dubious renewing online due to the cup scheme opt in issue. Apparently the opt in and no option to opt out is a website fault that they know about and you don’t automatically get opted in! (Hmm) Told to expect n...
