Re: Takeover talk
I seriously doubt that DG personally paid for Coufal. The impression I've got is that he's desperate for cash to keep his family's businesses going.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 27 days remaining
I can’t see any of Arnie, Yarmie, Chicharito, Anderson or Bernard being happy on the bench at little ol’ West Ham. Plus Lanzini to return. Without Europe we’re not going to be able to give them enough games. Money better spent elsewhere. Even if that is a bit boring. Sorry. A proper defensive mid s...

Koeman's last three seasons in the prem: 7th, 6th, 7th - not sure how Bilic has better credentials there.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017
Would be funny if we signed a £40m midfielder and Rice kept him out of the team.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017
If Onyekuru can't get a work permit we could just loan him to a club in Belgium for a season until he can become a naturalised citizen. Not perfect but if the club rate him highly it's a way to bring him in.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Targets
Italian press reporting that Arsenal want 13m for Szczesny and Juve has only offered 4m. ...Would anyone else here take him over Hart at that price? I think I would. Hart's Torino gave up 66 goals last season and scored 71. Szczesny's Roma gave up 38 and scored 90. Probably because they wer...

Re: Transfer Window: January 2017
The biggest issue for us isn't what we offer to another club but how we intend to pay it... We are not a cash rich club in any term of the phrase... we don't scattergun to see if we hit the mark we do it because we need to push the selling club into our payment plan... You can pretty much guarantee...

Re: Transfer Window: January 2017
Just imagine we'd signed Payet this summer rather than last. Without his one good season behind him, would anyone seriously keep him on the basis of this seasons effort? Despite the 'stats', he doesn't look like our best player. To be fair, moments like his goal v Middlesbrough and assist versus Wa...

Re: Transfer Window: January 2017
Got no problemo with Calleri starting. He has not really been give much of a chance at all. Given he has never played in europe at all it was very unlikely he was going to hit the ground running. He is in and around the Argie squad so defo got pedigree. Hope we keep him on and he gets a fair chance...

Re: Sullivan BS Loans and Free Signings January 2017 thread
More importantly, why would you want to move a bloke that can score 10+ a season from the wing? The answer is to get a proper striker and have goals from both positions.Wilko1304 wrote:Antonio isn't good enough with his feet to be a striker. Not sure he's bright enough either.

Re: A £20 million plus striker: The summer transfer thread
Loic Remy has consistently scored at around a goal every 2 games (when starting regularly). He'd be a great signing for us.

Surprised we haven't been linked with Negredo or Loic Remy yet, they seem like perennial targets.

The club should go all out for Vincent Janssen now. Need to get a deal across the line rather than waiting on Lacazette etc.

Re: A £20 million plus striker: The summer transfer thread
Isn't Berahino's agent the same as Oxford's? Could be a cunning ploy - bid for Berahino knowing that the agent won't kick up a fuss over the Oxford contract unless he's willing to lose a serious cut and then drop the bid when the contract's signed...

To be fair to Oxford/his agent, you're not going to sign the first contract that gets put in front of you. He could well sign soon...

Think we'd struggle to get Embolo...every big club in Europe is looking at him.
