Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I find the fpp baffling tbh but short term are Chelsea in a massive hole? Take this season. They spent 450m+, split over 5 years that's 90m a year. The academy sales are pure profit so they are almost break even on those 3 sales alone. Havertz was a 35m fpp profit, most everyone they sold was a fpp...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I have no doubt the board will offer Moyes a new contract end of season, but Moyes may not take it. He won't get another premiership top job in my view, but he may well fancy returning to Jockland, or working for UEFA - but I think it will be his decision not the board's if he is here next season.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
The only replay that showed Soucek had moved his arm towards the ball was the very last angle, but they used 2 other angles multiple times that were clearly never going to prove anything, yet they kept running them back and forth - this is what needs to be stopped, if you run it from one angle and i...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
That is a great point and one that’s conveniently glossed over. Villa were poor and there for the taking, M oyes negative tactics and lack of the right subs denied us three points. -again far too defensive/negative - why not bring Ings on for Antonio, why put Bowen central where he has not in the g...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
We played a lot better than I thought we would. We attacked well and were ultimately unfortunate not to come away with 3 points. My opinion on the standard of refereeing is that it isn't corruption, it's outright incompetence. Two of those goals were right to be ruled out, albeit they should have m...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I think this is as far as we can go without better ownership (doesn't have to be richer) or richer owners. In fact I think Moyes is currently a big part of us overperforming the level that we should expect with the current ownership. In case I'm not clear, Moyes isn't the problem. Over performing i...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
The board all like Moyes so fully expect him to be offered a 2 year deal end of the season. There was no threat at all of a sacking in January, they all believe he is experienced enough to get out of any perceived down turn in form, as he has done before. Whether we like it or not the board like the...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread
I don't understand some of you on here - apart from Zouma's **** up we have completely dominated that half. We pressed hard, not let them get the crosses in and just 2 shots on target and one of those was a goal, I think that's a pretty good first half. We played front foot football, so what do you ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
No changes contemplated until end of the season.
9th at present, in the EL last 16, zero threat of relegation. End of the season, if we finish in a Euro place or win the EL, then he will get another contract, get knocked out and finish lower than 7th then a new man will be appointed.

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady
Gents The only way Qatar Inc buys us is purely for property/real estate reasons. they own most of the park so that would be the only rationale as owning the stadium would generate more revenues done properly. There is littler point in billionaires or companies with huge wealth buying a football club...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
For those wanting Potter forget it, worse record than Moyes, not fancied by the board.
We need to be looking further than Potter, and we are by all accounts.

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread
If the board have any balls now is the time to pull the trigger.
You lose by 6 to Arsenal, put it down to an off day, but there was absolutely nothing today to show there us any upturn in form coming. Resorting to a shot Antonio was the final straw for me.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Aguerd is a good defender, in a solid back 4, which we don't have. Moyes is caught between two stools, he hasn't got the players he wanted, has gone from a low block to trying to use the more skilful players in a breaking side, then resorted to just defending again, seems to have lost the mojo, or r...

Moyes' tactics wrRe: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Moyes's tactics were largely to blame yesterday, we caught Arsenal on a very good day, but the players must shoulder the bulk of the blame - they were disinterested when the second went in, heads visibly dropped and nobody got anywhere tight to their man, Arsenal players had loads of time on the bal...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Unless I've missed something, it seems the new rules from this season only look at current-season revenue and expenditure. It's a change from the previous 3 season model: "The regulations see clubs subject to squad cost controls for the first time. The cost control rule limits spending on play...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Erm, no, actually. Uefa PSR is in-season only so no carry-forward of any Rice upside. revenue is the base line for FFP in UEFA rules, wages and transfer fees etc can only equate to a percentage of revenues, so the 100m earned last season and not spent means revenues are 100m higher, meaning we can ...
