Re: Hammers on Loan 2019/20

I didn't see the game, but Sead Haksabanavic played 74 minutes for Montenegro last night. Given that they got a tonking, it's probably hard to make much of a judgement from that, but did he show any signs that he might be of any use to us?

Re: Little things that irritate you

My missus' "filing system". We have a filing cabinet, and in fairness, she's pretty good at filing things like manuals and receipts away. But the way she files stuff...?! Washing machine, fridge and freezer all filed under "B" (for Bosch, obviously - we'll skip blithely over the fact that one of the...

Re: West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur: Match Thread 23/11/2019

On the one hand, it's hard to pick a team, based on performances being so consistently crap, but OTOH we're running out of players. In Goal, whoever looks least bad in training over the next couple of weeks. Or a left over Guy from fireworks night Defence: Fredricks, Diop, Ogbonna, and god help us, ...

Re: A place to call home: where next?

I've been having a look at Lincolnshire Wolds as well - had a holiday up in Lincolnshire a couple of years and loved it there. Dunno what's going on in Market Rasen, but there's a lot of very nice property going, that has been on the market for ages, and with no chains. My theory is that there was a...

Re: Watton, Norfolk

Our next two places to recce are Lowestoft and St Neots, both are a bit further out than I'd like but those riverside boozers are proving more elusive than I'd have thought. UTJ, Calne in Wiltshire is quite a nice town if you're interested in out that way, some stunning countryside there abouts as ...

Re: Cresswell or Masuaku?

Aaron Cresswell has signed four contracts with West Ham in just over five years: ✅ 2014: 5 years (to 2019) ✅ 2015: 5 years + 2 yr option (to 2020-22) ✅ 2016: 1 year extension (to 2021) ✅ 2019: 2 year extension (to 2023) https://www.kumb.com/story.php?id=133965 https://www.kumb.com/stats_contracts.p...

Re: Watton, Norfolk

The problem you will find with large chunks of Norfolk are (a) there's crap-loads of new housing development everywhere, much of it not great, so many areas are struggling for infrastructure versus new population density; (b) road links to the rest of the country are dreadful; (c) many metropolitan ...

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

The gulf between Fabianski and the reserve keepers is a yawning one. Keeper's dont need a rest. To unnecessarily play a reserve behind an experimental team in such an important game is bad management, Sure, they'll be clamouring for a game...but **** 'em they' they're not up to it. It's not about re...

Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

Just watched the highlights - absolutely shocking defending for the 3rd and 4th, and not great for the 1st either. FIWW, I watched the 2nd several times and I reckon the scorer was offside, but even then the defence were a shambles, PabZab had pushed up with the rest and was holding a line, then the...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

Looking at the lineups before the game, I had the same reaction to a couple of the mancs in the Opp View - we had a better team than them, and there were very few players in their lineup that I would have swapped for ours. The most shocking thing was to look at their bench - they had nothing there, ...

Re: Nathan Holland

Holland looked a handful in that game, and scored another goal coming in from the left wing virtually identical to the last game. Hard to judge on that performance though, as the defending from both sides was apacalyptically bad. I wasn't overly encouraged by Trott in goal either - his positioning l...

Agree about the need to differentiate titles and 2nd line. Also feel there's a wee bit too much header on the forum page at the moment: 1. Quick links etc 2. facebook, contact us 3 - 6 (approx) Kumb logo 7. Menu 8. Separator line 9. Breadcrumb bar 10. Title of board 11. list of mods 12 New topic but...

Test apparently isn't applied if a club is taken over mid-season. Which, some might say, is a tiny little loophole in the otherwise iron-clad rigour of the rules

Re: Jack Wilshere

If anyone is writing off Jack at this stage, then I presume they weren't keen on signing him in the first place. I'm not writing him off, but I certainly wouldn't have signed him - I think, at best, he's the wrong player. At worst, well...I've been saying on here for at least 3 years that I don't r...

Re: Jack Wilshere

That's hardly a hatchet job - pretty factual on his injury record, and that we can't afford to carry another injured player, and agreeing with many on here that we needed to spend on defensive midfield and full back. The big problem with Wilshere, even if he was 100% fit all the time, is where he fi...
