Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

We miss Antonio (and Arnautovic). Without their pace teams have nothing to worry about attacking us with numbers as we won't be able to beat them on the counter. Anderson has to do more.

Combines intelligence with technical ability, representative of the new West Ham. Desperate for him to do well.

Re: Your top three free kicks

Probably not in the top 3 but got a real soft spot for Diego Tristan away at Stoke in a one-nil win. Pulis' boys trying to kick lumps out of a Zola side trying to play pretty football, this was the difference and we held on nicely.

Re: ⚽ Aston Villa v West Ham United: Match Thread

Convinced we would have won if we had 11-men at full time. The shame was that we went down to ten men just as we were camped in their half, in the ascendancy, and they had completely run out of ideas, but hadn't done enough beforehand to be in the lead. They were laughably bad when we went down to t...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Norwich City: Match Thread

Snodgrass takes a good set piece but that is about it. He loves giving away fouls in areas of the pitch where we can be hurt from a set piece. Anyway, onto this game, I'm worried that they are going to attack with more men than we are willing to defend with. Someone needs to tell our wide players th...

Re: ⚽ Watford v West Ham Utd: match thread

Anderson is maddening isn't he? Defends and tracks back on a feels like it basis. But goes and wins us the game with that assist. Played a lovely pass for the first goal too.

Poor Masuaku had to defend for three most of the game with no support from Ogbonna inside or Anderson ahead.

Rice made a huge one in stoppage time last week. We can't have it both ways.

Re: ⚽ Watford v West Ham Utd: match thread

Watch the you tube video at the times I set out in the post on the Brighton thread. At 5:12 in he is in a barely acceptable 4 but that is something to be dealt with on the training field. By 5:14 the other 3 have dropped back to try to deal with the danger, he is 10 yards further upfield and our sh...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester City: Match Thread (10/8)

Finding it funny how people are discussing how we might nick a point. We're going to get beat, it's just a matter of how much. We'll also probably concede very early from an overlapping fullback not being properly tracked by one of our wide midfielders (I'm looking at you Anderson). The game will be...

Re: Five players who changed West Ham United's fortunes

Zamora, who was a freebie as part of selling Defoe to Spurs. Scored the play off semi and final goals that returned us to the promised land, was an instrumental player in our first season back up ( including scoring at Highbury) that ended in a top half finish, qualifying for Europe and an FA Cup Fi...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Exactly this, HPDC. Is this where we should be aiming? Leicester's current policy, basically. I think you have a point, but to play devil's advocate, considering our position and our budget, signing an unproven striker is a huge risk. Iheanacho has flopped so Leicester have gone and got a proven-is...

The most Bilic thing I've ever seen. For all our pretty passing, we won that game with a trademark Carroll header.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

If we hadn't faffed around with 4-4-2 at times we would be watching European football next season. That's both a complement and a criticism of Pellegrini. With the right investment I have the faith in him to take us there next year.
