Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
A lot of people saying the gameplan was right and we shouldn't have done anything differently are missing the point that this game was lost in January not last night. Again when we needed freshening up in the last 15-20 to hold them off we had no one to bring on. This was a deliberate policy in Jan ...

Re: Fixtures March 29th- 4th April
We last finished above Manchester United in 1985/6. That is by far and away the longest consecutive run that any club have over us - Arsenal's was similar until about three years ago. If I could pick one team for us to finish above out of Newcastle, Chelsea and Man U to end up 8th, it would be Man ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
A great point hard earned, but oh for a subs bench to help us go and win the game when they were offering very little.
A good point now but the January window could've helped it have been three... maybe... I hope we don't feel the repercussions of that effort in week's time in Germany.

Re: Season ticket renewal 24/25
There's something symbolic about the figure going past the £1k figure that has done me. £55 a game for 19 games. No cups. Made me chuckle thinking about my first season ticket costing £120. Admittedly I was over 20 years younger and we had just signed Wayne Quinn and Robbie Stockdale on loan, but we...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
We really mugged off Sky last night. They made such a big deal of everyone leaving the Arsenal game early so we showed them that we leave early at 4-1 up too.

Re: Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread
It's either the dreaded 5-3-2, which Moyes occasionally returns to and then changes at half time/55th minute when it is failing.
Or,
It's Emerson left wing, Johnson lb to cover up for our failed transfer strategy.
Either way...fun!

Re: ✍ Welcome, Konstantinos Mavropanos
Been pretty miserable about West Ham the last 24/48 hours so thought I'd say he had a good game last night. Even with the odd errant pass he was solid defensively and made a number of well timed interventions, blocks, and even runs. He gave me more confidence than the captain.

Re: January transfer window
Were we even close to signing anyone to replace Fornals and Benrahma yesterday? It seems the final plan was just to deliberately weaken our left side with two players Moyes regularly uses?

Re: West Ham Utd v Bournemouth - Match Thread
James Ward-Prowse left midfield and Soucek behind the striker.
Let's admit it, we were set up to fail. The first half hour was the worst we've played all season and there were no solutions on the bench to fix it.
We are going to start sliding down the table.

Fornals scored in Alkmaar.
Benny scored in Prague.
They are our history. They deserved so much better.

It really wasn't that long ago he was bossing Martinelli, Garnacho, and getting quite a few assists.

Playing with Mubama is like playing with ten men. That experiment needs to end.

Re: ✍ Thilo Kehrer
A panic buy after Aguerd went down injured in pre-season. His positive attitude and ability to pass out the back were somewhat overshadowed by his repeated clangers, having been thrown in at the deep end. By the end of the season Moyes had got hold of him (and Emerson) tactically and defensively and...

Re: West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion: match thread
If you give up over 50 shots over two games it's not an ideal recipe for success. Some of them are going to be meaningful/have a good chance of scoring in a low-scoring sport. I think the wasteful finishing of our opponents has really helped us across both games. Unlike the Man U game where they onl...

Re: West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion: match thread
Really enjoying Moyes in his lucky era. Over 50 shots conceded in the last two games. No goals. Unsustainable, but we wont play Arsenal and Brighton every week. Four points from those two games, thank you very much, shake hands, move on. I find it hard to criticise anyone last night. Fornals played ...
