Re: Paul Allen & Willy Young

I met Paul Allen in Curry’s car park at Lakeside once. Very nice chap and happy to have a chat. I asked about the foul and he was very calm about it as just what anybody might have done in the same circumstances. Not at all bitter. Might have been different if we had lost perhaps

I have a feeling that Roberto will become a cult hero based on his heroics against Tottenham tomorrow.

2-0 :crest:
Let's hope it is cult and not a similar alternative.

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

I had hoped that VAR would eliminate the ability that the big clubs have had to pay refs which I am certain has been happening for years. The fact that they took ages to not give a penalty which was quite clear yesterday after the handball yesterday just reinforces my opinion that our whole refereei...

Most probably Millwall, when I lived on the Island as a kid there were quite a few who supported them.

Sounds like Ravi might be off next season
He has said that he wants to concentrate on 20/20. He is 34. Can't blame him for maximising his income in the time he has left.

It is amazing how many Essex Members are also West Ham STH's. I spend a lot of time talking about West Ham when I'm at Chelmsford. :crest:

Re: England Cricket Summer 2019 ODI World Cup and Ashes

I was at Chelmsford yesterday. Essex are bang in form. Two centuries. Two five fivefers in the first innings and a seven fear in the second. I am very hopeful for tomorrow and will be shocked if we don’t win the Championship next week. Happy days for Essex fans :kumb:

Re: Lawrie Leslie

West Ham used to play my school team every year because Phil Woosnam was a former teacher and kept in touch with the PE staff. We had a good team but unsurprisingly the score reflected the vast difference between a good quality school team and a ,then, first division outfit. I remember Lawrie was in ...

Re: Was the Atmosphere more positive Saturday

The second half was good in general, a really positive feeling around the place. As others have mentioned though, it’s simply to do with how the team is playing, and that was also true at the Boleyn. Also agree with those saying it’s too big to get the kind of cohesive singing going that we had at ...

The League Cup Final against Liverpool. Blatant offside ,according to the rules at the time, cost us a trophy we still haven’t won.

Didn’t Antonio take over the armband yesterday? His career was revitalised last season and he sets an example to others.
