Re: Declan Rice

I think it grates with most people that he wasn't straight about it all, he was leading on the fans conducting the one more year song, and made himself front and centre of the trophy parade - as someone else said, do what Rob Green did when he knew he was offski and just let the people who were sti...

Re: Declan Rice

With three years left on his contract he was talking to another club which left us with little choice but to take less than market value. We could have bought another player with the extra £20m. He can do one. Personally, I thought he handled his departure professionally on the whole and we got a f...

Re: Declan Rice

Problem with this analysis is that, whereas he 'gave nothing but 100%' we came 14th. Tends to suggest that you might be over-reaching with your predictions. We shall see. I'm not entirely sure I get the point being made. I thought Joe Cole played his absolute heart out in 2002/3 and we were relegat...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

What's the word on Kudus? He pulled out of the Ghana squad with a supposedly minor knee injury. Hoping the withdrawal was merely precautionary given they were only playing friendlies. Will be a huge blow if he's missing on Sat as well as Alvarez. On the subject of the latter, it's time for Kalvin Ph...

Re: The kids are all right

Despite our apparent dominance in the league and cups for the last 3 years, there's still only 3 WHU players represented in the latest England U18s (2), U19s (0), U20s (1) and U21s (0) age groups. That's Mumbama in the U20s and Orford and Finlay Herrick in the U18s. I'd not even heard of the latter...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

Mustard last night, I thought. Really industrious and inventive performance, backed by his stats for the night. Linked up nicely with Rice, Mainoo & Toney and showed what he can do when the other players pass to him. Still can't shift the feeling that Southgate will drop him for one of his pref...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

Most predicted squads in the media still have him narrowly missing out, which is simply down to the ridiculous depth of options we have in the forward positions. Saka and Foden are dead certs. I think his main rivals are Rashford, Grealish, and Cole Palmer, and to an extent Gordon, although he plays...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

For the left wing role, Nico Williams at A. Bilbao and Spain looks some player who'd be perfect for us. Doubt he'd be a realistic target though as he's been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool.

The Greek Kiefer Moore, isn't he?

Reckon he'd be a cult hero of Snodgrass-eque proportions.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Sociedad? 15th in November is hardly a relegation fight There is a third reason he might leave and that’s not wanting to work under a certain structure. I wonder if as he’s well known in football that’s what puts some clubs off, knowing he may want more control than they’re willing to give up. Othe...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Mohammed Kudus

He pulled out of the Ghana squad with a minor knee injury apparently.

Hoping he’ll be fit for Saturday and he’s used the international break to get a much needed rest.

Wondering if anyone’s heard or read anything about his chances of being fit for Newcastle game?

He's the chap he linked us with in Jan, right. He looks a real underdog/wildcard signing.

Ioannidis is Johnson in English. Ioann= John. Idis= Son of. So son of John, >or John's son - Johnson. For what it's worth. We used to know a family by that name we used to vusit each others houses quite regularly and they told uscthe the equivalents to their name. I remember them saying Ivanisevic ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I can't help but wonder how much Chelsea would've been demanding for a young Carlton Cole in today's market. We bought them off him for £2m didn't we? He was still quite highly rated then, albeit with a couple of disappointing Broja-esque loan spells under his belt. Wonder what the equivalent of tha...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Mctominay was the signing to make instead of the nonsensical signing of Ward-Prowse. Paqueta, as good as he is I don’t think he’s as irreplaceable as some make out. Nonsensical? Bit dramatic isn't it? By all reports, Man Utd didn't want to sell McTominay (they reportedly would only consider bids of...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I want Toisin off Fulham. Free and I rate him highly Looks like a Ryan Fredericks type pick up Funny you should mention Ryan Fredericks. I was wondering what happened to him yesterday. Was it B'mouth who picked him up from us? I presume his injury issues never improved after he moved on. Massive si...

Very sad news. :( I presume it might have been sudden or unexpected. C&H is certainly a divisive site, but while I don't agree with many of the views, or groan at the inaccuracies they often publish, I actually think it's a very decent source of news, and I check it regularly. I hope Hugh's lega...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Signing Toney is also, extremely unrealistic. If you genuinely think we'd have a chance of taking Newcastle's record signing off of them I don't know what to say. You'll just get very disappointed when we sign a striker for half that price. I agree on Isak. Only reason Newcastle were able to attrac...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I see Ex on his podcast (apparently) suggested Oggy will be offered a new one year contract, on reduced wages. Unless Nathan leaves where does a new CH fit in? I think any new CH signing should instantly be first-choice. I think we're desperate in that position tbh. Regardless of Aguerd leaving or ...
