Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Is it worth taking a gamble for one season? Go big in the market with a £200M net spend and take the opportunity to revolutionise the squad. Take the 6/10 pt penalty deduction, aim for a mid table finish then kick on with what should be a much healthier squad. It seems to me that a few clubs are go...

Re: Julian's CV
I know a guy who used to play under Julian at Grays. He said Julian didn't know anything about football and just shouted at everyone. :crossed: However, he said that Julian's no.2, Ken Brown Jr, was very knowledgeable and a good coach. All that said, I met Julian at one of those ex-player nights in ...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
It's hard to say where they'd stand in the Premier League because confidence must count for a lot and they've clearly found a formula that's working exceptionally well in the Bundesliga. Given their present form, I'd regard this match as every bit as difficult as facing off against Man City or Liver...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
****, I am not looking forward to tonight at all. That's not good. :horror: Expecting a 2 or 3 goal defeat to pretty much put the tie out of our reach for 2nd leg but fear it could be like when we played Man City in the league cup semi under Sam. I guess having zero expectations means anything bette...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
If we’re still in this tie after tomorrow, we need Bayer to win the title over the weekend. That means they’re in the CL next season, and maybe, just maybe they’ll rest a few in the return leg. Rest players in the Europa cup because they've sewn up the league? That makes zero sense. Think they'd mo...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
I think I'd enjoy nothing more than a shock 1-0 win in which we get 9% possession, they have 30 shots to our 2, and our goal comes from a scruffy corner that bounces in off Soucek's left nutsack.

Zouma

Soucek

Cornet
Kudos

Cornet doesn't even get given 5mins off the bench in matches where all our attacking players look knackered or we're chasing goals.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread
Just seen Gary O'Neil's interview. I thought we should have shown similar anger at the Areola pen decision vs Sheff Utd, the VAR delays vs Villa, the missed handball vs Burnley and the Phillips pen vs Newcastle. Or maybe we did. Maybe I was fermenting and recoiling too much in my own disgust to even...

Well I don't think he's scored an own goal for us yet, so...you're probably right.bubbles1966 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 9:20 pm
He's going to decide the title, isn't he?

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
5 subs gives managers wonderful opportunities to change tactics or freshen it up. Moyes refuses to develop squad players including youngsters. It’s a great shame. We set up like it’s the 80s with 1 or 2 subs used mainly in case of injuries. Unless you've got some insider insight, I think that's a b...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Moyes makes subs and there's a massive drop off in quality. He doesn't make subs, then our players on the pitch get knackered and/or can't mix up tactics. It's a no-win situation. Moyes gets moaned at either way. I've seen people blame Moyes for our terrible lack of squad depth, but I think we're su...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
I'll watch it but feel we've been cheated this season. I seen black being called white by lots of professionals and think is it me? But I kook again and still can't get over that penalty. Even if we win tonight we don't get those points back. Saturday's match broke me. I was still ****ed off with t...

I literally can't muster any enthusiasm for this after all our recent VAR controversies.
Crazy days but I think our league season is as good as over.
**** football. I might join my partner in taking up crochet instead.
