Re: Pablo Fornals

I don’t see what he’s bringing to the team. He doesn’t have a place in my front six.

Today a lot of talented players in Anderson, Lanzini and Rice played poorly. I’m not convinced Fornals played below himself.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

I thought Mark was one of our better performers today.

It was a blow for the when Noble plays well, West Ham play well theory though.

Fair play. You called it right.

If he said that then poor form. Never been a fan of mangers, players toeing the party line to fans who know what they saw. Disappointing.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

We’re mid table fodder, I can’t see any vast improvement from last season tbh. We’ll win a few, lose a few. Take a few scalps, and turn in some pi** poor performances like we did today. 100% We’re not going down. We’re not getting into Europe through the league. So please can we play our first team...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

Pellegrini-" I am disappointed because we had a good performance". Jesus wept, if that was a good performance, how disappointed would he be on a poor performance? If he were any more laid back, they'd harvest his kidneys. I want him to stop being disappointed by such "good performances" and kick so...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

The service isn't great but he doesn't seem to be hugely mobile and nor does he seem to be working very hard IMHO of course I haven't seen many runs made behind, and he loses a lot of one on one duals. I am sure he will come good, but I was expecting a little bit more in the sense of leading from t...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

One of the issues is that out so called star players are all overrated to an extent, and I include Rice in that Rice Haller Anderson Lanzini Diop These are supposedly our big players. The ones worth top dollar. I would say only Diop is worth his salt at the moment. The others are vastly overrated I...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

Also, let’s put this great start to the season myth to bed. As the Benchmark thread shows, we’ve started this season worse than we did in corresponding fixtures last year. We got hammered by a League One club in the Coca Cola Cup. When the tricky fixtures start to bite we’re gonna be looking over ou...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

It reminded me of the England Iceland game at the Euros where obviously talented footballers suddenly seemed incapable to control the ball and make five yard passes. Lanzini looked like he couldn’t trap a bag of cement. I noticed him the most because he’s the more able, but no one really shone. What...

Re: Czech Republic vs England

Definitely need to find a better option than Barkley. Somehow conspiring to not deliver in an England side crushing things in this campaign.

Expecting a comfortable victory. A clean sheet would be nice.

They tried that at the World Cup, but Maguire and Kane started throwing themselves to the floor at every corner instead of trying to play football.
No they didn’t. They were correctly given penalties when they were fouled. It was very refreshing.

Didn’t last sadly.

Why don't they stamp out the wrestling at set pieces which is much worse than the 'foul' on Mane?
They absolutely should. 100%. But once again, unless a player goes to the floor, they will never give anything. It's exactly the same problem.

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

I'm not saying he did or didn't. I don't really know to be honest. What I do know is that it is perfectly possible to be fouled and to stay on your feet but you will rarely ever get a free kick for it and never a penalty. Debating about whether or not there was enough contact to send a guy to the fl...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

A foul is when contact from an opposition impedes, restricts or outright precludes a player from being able to move naturally, with no attempt being made to play the ball. Herein lies the issue. Far, far too many people think a foul is only a foul if it is contact with enough force to send a player...

Re: CL/Euro games this week

Harry Kane has 5 goals in 7 appearances in the Premier League, 2 in 2 in Champions League and is captaining the England side who are smashing four or five goals in every qualifier.

Definitely needs dropping for Tammy Abraham

Re: 1989/90 season revisited

Went to my second and third games in this season. A 4-2 win over Barnsley on New Year’s Day and a 2-2 draw against Port Vale. Port Vale game was my first on the North Bank. I was 8 years old, barely four and a half foot and couldn’t see a thing. Still loved being there though.
