Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Arsenal :Match thread (9/12)

This has got to be whoever scores first, wins. The conceding team will just deflate, I can see it now. Antonio has to play... it has come to that. I can't trust anyone else right now. Arsenal have gone behind 13 times this season and equalised 9 of those times. If we go one up they won't consider t...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

I don't think we'll actually finish bottom three as I think there are three other teams even less effective at picking up points than us. I think we'll be finishing 13th-17th though and certainly not top ten.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Arsenal :Match thread (9/12)

They are in as chaotic a state as I can ever remember. If we roll over and gift them a victory I’ll be absolutely gutted.

I’ll take a draw but we cannot be beaten.

Re: ⚽ Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United: Match Thread

Real case of Christian Dailly Syndrome being exhibited here. When a player or team is consistently woeful for an extended period of time, mediocre performances will receive praise far greater than they truly merit. Anderson, Fornals, the team in general didn’t play wemll at all imo. There was some n...

especially Anderson who really suits that mid forward central position, his cross pitch pass to Snoddy was inch perfect, hardly any need to control it, but he still fluffed it.
At least from my sofa I could see it was Fornals who passed to Snodgrass.

Let's be honest, it's irrelevant who the manager is.

We're just treading mid table water until they sell up to someone with ambition who wants to take the club forwards.
I wish we were treading midtable water. I think we’ll be bottom six for the foreseeable.

Away to a League One side. Worst possible draw.

Play the reserves. Lose. Rinse & repeat.

Re: F A Cup 3rd Round draw

Thinking today while watching the results that it feels like ages since we had a home fa cup game, them remember we had birmingham last year at home before that wonderful game against AFC Wimbledon, then a couple of seasons before that we lost 5-0 to city. Of our last 14 FA Cup draws, four have bee...

Re: Other Fixtures 29/11 - 1/12

Based on this performance it’s difficult to see why Norwich are in the position they’re in.

Re: F A Cup 3rd Round draw

Not a League One team away from home.

Someone reasonably decent at home so we have to play a strong team.

There was no way of shutting that tunnel off.
The previous year a police cordon blocked entry to the tunnel and there was no crush. In 1989 no one ordered this to happen and fans entered the tunnel and crushed those further forward.

Re: Hillsborough

Surely if ticketless fans were there it means that there were more people than necessary inside or outside the stadium and therefore must have been a factor in what went on. There wasn’t thousands of ticketless fans. The Leppings Lane terrace held 10,100 people and that was the amount of people in ...

Re: Hillsborough

I never said there were none there. I said they didn’t cause the crowding outside the stadium or the crushing inside.

Rangers and Celtic both won their groups. Impressive considering the lack of money up there.
Rangers aren’t through yet. They need a draw in their final game.

Re: Hillsborough

The Leppings Lane terrace was never over capacity that day. The terrace could have safely held every person who went through the terraces or the opened gate if the entrance to the centre pens was closed when they were full. The side pens had plenty of space. Additionally the crowd outside the stadiu...

Re: Weekend Fixtures 22-25/11/19

Thought I’d have a look. Went back to the start of the century as an arbitrary starting point. Of the 57 teams promoted between 2000 & 2018, 8 have been relegated in their second season up Team, Year Promoted, Year Relegated Ipswich 2000 2002 WBA 2004 2006 Reading 2006 2008 Hull 2008 2010 Birmingham...

Re: Weekend Fixtures 22-25/11/19

At the risk of repeating myself, Sheffield United are just like many sides that come up. Have a reasonably good first season, get found out and relegated in the second season. Chris Wilder is an OK manager but not the man for us. Like who? I can only think of Huddersfield and I wouldn’t really say ...

Re: Weekend Fixtures 22-25/11/19

As much as it pains me to say, Sheff Utd look impressive. That Mousset is enjoyable to watch. Never stops working and has a bit of skill and a tidy brain to go with it.
