Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Paqueta will be incredible at City - and £85mil is completely fair.

We need 4 quality players imo.

Right back
CB
Paq replacement (Gibbs-White, Eze)
striker

£160mil should do it and actually realistic if we sell Paq

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

I really like Southgate but I'm starting to err on the side of the doubters unfortunately

Why on earth was Gallagher starting? Foden should be in the middle.

Ezri Konsa at right back with all the talent we have there?

Rashford was pathetic when he came on

Mainoo looked good at least

Moyes keeping Kudus on the left is scary.

Needs to be cutting in.

How can he not see it?

Re: January transfer window

I think Bowen is better up front (and fluidly switching during the game) than RW rigid. I don’t think he’s creative and I lean towards not making him run up and down the flank all game. He’s such a natural goalscorer and his short area burst and intelligence to make dangerous runs is ideal for us a...

Re: January transfer window

My concern is who does our new forward replace? Ward-Prowse looks much better being the one pushing up, do we push him back into a less effective position to move Paqueta central? Do we move Paqueta into the deeper role? Would we be getting the best out of him if we did that? I'd be tempted to upgr...

Re: The Next 6 - A Crossroads?

We need a proper centre forward. Nothing means anything in terms of the manager or anything else until then. The crossroads for me is the January transfer window. Problem is, centre forwards are about as common as spurs winning a trophy. You say that, but Awoniyi, Solanke, Watkins, Toney all play f...

Re: Alex Song

His fantastic strike from outside the box when we played Arsenal at home. Which I am still convinced was wrongly ruled out 100% in. That run of form he was in up to that match was the best I’ve seen in the flesh. Against Swansea he was majestic. And when we beat City 2-1 I think. Coolest player we’...

Re: West Ham Utd v Nottingham Forest: Match Thread

Would expect to dominate possesion but guess we need to be careful of the counter attack and Awoniyi bullying our CBs. If Zouma is fit straight back in. If not Kehrer ----------------------Areola ---------Mavro----Zouma---Aguerd Coufal---Soucek-----Alvarez----Emerson -------Kudus-------------------...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Everyone on this site . As well as the 60 000 who go to every home match . Know we desperately need full backs and have done for years . But There's someone at this club who thinks it isn't a priority. No prizes for guessing who that is . And it isn't any manager . Yep. Been saying this for years. ...

Same. I’d like to see-

Mav-Zouma-Aguerd
JWP-Soucek-Alvarez-Paqueta-Emerson
Kudus-Bowen

Re: West Ham Utd vs Everton: match thread

As most are saying, the ability to constantly attack teams who sit deep with fast, intricate passing, at high tempo is something we don't have in our locker at the moment. when you watch Arsenal, City, Brighton and now spurs amongst some others, they probably carve out 5 clear cut chances per game,...

Re: West Ham Utd vs Everton: match thread

Moyes set up is suited for overlapping fullbacks. This is the thing that really bothers me- if we're going to play inverted wingers and setup like Moyes does, why on earth haven't we invested in younger full backs like Coleman & Baines back in the day? Instead we have 33 year old Cresswell and ...

`I agree with Crouchy, I cant see him being in demand at one of the “big clubs” unless he was on a free (I think)… Let’s hope he feels happy here and the club improvements match his ambitions and therefore a deal can be done. Dunno... IF he has an even better season than the one before last (top en...

When I tell my Arsenal mates I can’t stand Arteta they genuinely can’t understand why :crylol:

You can’t honestly look at the media’s history and say they don’t dictate when stories like this come out. They come out when it suits them. Brand is a complicated guy -traumatic upbringing, addict, self confessed narcissist (hard to do!), a working class geezer who got famous. He’s also clearly tre...

Re: West Ham United v Manchester City - Match Thread

It'll be the same team that started Brighton and we will start with exactly the same strategy as against Brighton. Man City are much better at defending a counter, but hopefully we can get Rodri carded early doors. Agreed. Best tactical fouler in the league. Reckon Paqueta can draw an early card if...
