Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We should be doing this anyway, not basing it off of two games. Agreed. Unfortunately long term planning doesn’t seem to be a strength of our current owners. At least knowing whether we have anything left to play for this season and whether or not we are likely to be in Europe next season removes a...

Massive massive two games.
Definitely! Lose both and it is time to start planning for next season, starting with who the manager will be.

Re: ✍ Pablo Fornals

From the KUMB news page.
West Ham's sources have claimed the club were unable to complete the deal due to technical issues at the London Olympic Stadium. Betis remain bullish about the chances of the deal being concluded.
Everyone knows the WIFI at the stadium is terrible, but this is ridiculous!

Re: 2023 In Review: Pretty Good Year

That picture is taken half a second before my favourite ever moment as a Hammers fan. The instant when the ball bounced in the six yard box in front of an open goal and it was obvious we were going to win will live with me for ever! As UTJ says. A pretty good year! Here’s to the next one being even...

Re: Boxing Day fixtures

Manchester United v Aston Villa was an entertaining game!

I am sure that the Villa fans are delighted that Emery didn’t lead his team to the wrong sort of win against Manchester United like David Moyes apparently did at the weekend.

Re: Atmosphere

The ground doesn't help one bit, but my long-held belief here is that the biggest factor regards a decline in atmosphere is that attending football matches in this country is now a hobby for middle class, middle-aged men as opposed to working class lads in their teens and twenties. The fact that it...

Re: Should West Ham managers be judged on their win percentage or their style of football?

In my opinion answers to this question will be divided amongst those that still regularly go to matches and those that sit around at home dreaming about a mythological golden era that never actually existed.

Re: Bačka Topola v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

I’m reading on the BBC website that….
Soucek's goal means West Ham have scored in 20 successive European games, winning 18 and losing only once.
I’ve only been supporting West Ham for 50 odd years, but in my limited experience that is pretty ****ing good.

Unfortunately, I'm not confident that if you dug deep enough, the clown show that runs West Ham would come up smelling of roses in all this.

Won 3-2 today. Lost 3-2 last week. A win in Europe in between. If only we didn’t have such a boring defensive manager!

Re: West Ham United V Olympiacos : match thread

Reading all these comments, I am starting to think that there is something wrong with me, because I enjoyed the game last night.

It wasn’t exactly free-flowing, but it was absorbing watching us try to break down a tough opponent. I also think that in the circumstances the atmosphere wasn’t too bad.

Re: Takeover talk

If anyone else is thinking of buying or selling a significant stake in West Ham, then the realised price of Vanessa Golds 10% gives a good guide to the current market value of the club.

Re: ✍️ Michail Antonio

Said it a million times on this thread, but he certainly didn’t ‘try his heart out’ at right back. Gave up on his teammates and went off crying to sully more like. I’m not as familiar as your good self with what went on behind the scenes. But from memory he got his first England call up around 2016...

Re: ✍️ Michail Antonio

but I think it says much more about our signings in the number 9 position than it does about Antonio to be honest. and to give him another year at this stage is completely unfathomable. and I like him. handing out an extension to a 33 year old who has been on a downward trajectory the past 2 season...

Re: ✍️ Michail Antonio

Great news if true Agreed. We signed him from the Championship and he obviously isn’t the most refined player, but he tries his heart whether he is asked to play fullback, winger or centre forward. He was an integral part of the last season at the Boleyn and our recent cup success. He has scored mo...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Mohammed Kudus

I'm interested to see where on the pitch Kudus is going to play for us. One of the flanks might be the obvious option, but he could also be an Antonio alternative in the middle. Mik uses his strength and speed to hold the ball up and launch an attack. Kudus can potentially do the same job using his ...
