Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

His talent does not compensate for his petulance. His clever passing does compensate for his ball losses. His inspiration to the team does not compensate their frustration. Respect has to be earned. All these mistakes can be avoided if he was more professional and less self indulgent. £100m? Regretf...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

I don't think Leverkusen 'won' that game at the end more than we 'lost' it. We were tired, battered, without a plan, fresh legs, ambition or leadership. Until the first goal we were flattered only by the exploits of our keeper.

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Disappointed in the lack of captaincy. We need someone to gee the team up, get in the ref’s face and calm players down when they need to. Zouma has been a fantastic player for us, but a skipper he ain’t. Been saying it for ages Doc, we lack leadership. As good and tenacious as Bowen is, he's not it...

With what though? Our most creative player from midfield got banned, his possible replacement got banned, our best defensive midfielder is banned and if our top scorer is still injured........

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

I couldn't give a chuff who we're playing and where, I want us to do our best to win. Not sit back, let the oppo have 32 shots (13 on target) then pretend we've done well. I have to agree to a point. If you are going to park the bus it had better work and at least at some point in the game plan, ch...

27% possession, one shot all game. I know the plan was classic defensive Moyesball, which was fine, but one shot?

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

I think Stavros the weak link when Coufal goes forward. Can't see many goals in this game unless we capitulate and invite on and tippy tappy on the side. Wonder how Paq will play? He could be the game changer for us if on a going day.

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Moyes has has all week to think about this task and to prepare. He will come up with a cunning plan to keep us in this tie. The loss of Bowen is a huge loss for us, so he has had to compensate for that, so I'm expecting a sort of Rorke's Drift performance from us. I've been there incidentally and a...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

This team has got goals in it but more chances of getting a striker in the transfer window. If we go there and not play to win, I think the chances are........we won't win. I'd rather go out in a blaze of glory than limp out without trying. Fab Coufal---Zoom---Aguerd---Emerson JWP---Soucek Kudus---P...

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady

The "reward" is to be a fulltime professional football player earning in a week what their school mates (if they have a job) earn in a year and I doubt they give flying **** what the building they eat their lunch in looks like as long as they can see their Merc out the window. Good point!...

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady

What should be the automatic reward for 18/19-year-olds, who're according to our head of youth development and their U18-manager aren't ready for PL-football yet? The inference, which you chose to ignore as usual to make yourself look clever, is that our training facilities are a joke. I've been th...
