Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

All the hush hush secrecy around.......nothing? Preparing a list of targets.......only one and not available? All the investment in experienced scouting set up and 3+ months planning for.......maybe Phillips on loan, a Championship player and last minute bargain? Although we don't need yet another A...

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Surely we can't leave Lanzini out? He had the best stats in every department bar tackling (2nd) and heading last weekend. Vlasic had the worst and it's not the game to hope he might come good in.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I think 'dithering' and penny pinching is half the problem not just availability of players. Bayern are now talking to Sparta for Hlozek and Corinthians are moving for Cabral as we are apparently not interested at 12.5m asking price. Whilst Moyes and Newman may chose the players, it smells like Sull...

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

After last night's results and the loss against Leeds, it becomes a must not lose match or 7th beckons. And if the gooners and manure win their games in hand, we'd be 4 points adrift too. It's a shame we couldn't find a single player in the world to bolster our squad early in the window. Still, at l...

Where has this idea that Schick is a sicknote come from? I've never thought that of him.
Think again.......

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I remain convinced Schick would never work here. I've got nothing to go on, I'm also sure he'd be a success in a dominant side, I just don't fancy it working here. Antonio is unique, trying to replicate him is near on impossible. Strong as an ox and pops up all over the place. How many strikers do ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Did anyone see that goal by Okoflex last night? Dribbling past defenders with ease and slotting home. Scored a wonder goal from outside the box a while ago. Why he hasn't had any minutes (21yo) for the first team and Perkins (17yo) has is a mystery. Different level of course but 11 goals in 15 is im...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

100%. Forget everything and buy a calm, composed centre half. Desperate for a tp quality CH now Ogbonna looks to be going down the other side of the mountain. I'd love to see a solid, old fashioned defensive centre half with with Rice and Soucek either side. Firm up the midfield and allow either of...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Or he has transformed the whole club, several underperformers have come back to form, a Championship player in Bowen now looks like one of the best goalscoring wingers in the PL, players from a smaller league in Soucek and Coufal hit the ground running and the whole team has some sort of ethos that...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Why have you got Roberto and Haksabanovic as Moyes signings? Evra, Randolph, Dawson and Kral were all signed to cover injuries or as clear back ups. Not every signing is intended to replace someone in the first XI as much as some people would expect them to do so. Moyes' first game back included Ba...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Going by your logic about not signing players because of the league they play in we would not have signed Soucek or Coufal. Why did his policy not work in the summer? He wasn't able to find all the players he wanted with the right quality, attitude or at the right price to improve us in some areas ...

That would be a very strange reason to write off an entire league / country. Don't go into management.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

So we are looking at the Turkish league to find a 'right player', seriously? Remember hot prospect Golkan Tore? I'm somewhat bemused about the confidence behind Moyes 'right player' policy. Didn't work in the summer and so far it's not working now, potentially to the detriment of the club and player...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

Moyes - "We were chasing the game from 15 minutes in and it was really difficult to change him (Antonio). He was out on his legs after the game but again what can we do?"

At a wild guess I'd say buy a striker, you've had a year?

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

As good a job as he's done, Moyes is becoming culpable on many fronts, not the least the transfer market. Too many excuses now and too much moaning about other factors, he is the one responsible for the predicament (virus aside). Considering our investment in a new scouting set up, the lack of any p...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

If we bring them on they then count as players for consideration of games being postponed. If we have a real outbreak, and not an Arsenal outbreak we'll need to have the option of postponement. Good point Bubbs, forgot about that. Moyes has been even more cagey than usual about injuries and virus c...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

I wish Moyes had brought on a couple of kids in the week when we went 2 up to give players a rest, Antonio in particular. I have a strange feeling he is close to getting an injury as he looked a little 'tender' after an incident in that match. Wonder if he will start?
