Good news indeed.
Here's to see him back out on the pitch sooner rather than later/

Don't know where to start with that display, but here goes............. Overall, a lazy, insipid, generally couldn't be a**ed performance. Outmuscled most of the game, crosses and passes not even getting past the first man. Paqueta? The sort of performance that makes me feel there's a deal already d...

Re: Stopping the cheating
In my mind, dealing with the cheats is a bit of a conundrum. If it became mandatory to take a player off for a head injury assessment and replace them with a temporary sub, we all know what's going to happen; It'll just become another tool to gain an advantage. Players who may need a bit of a breath...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread
I was going to post before the game that I'd have a feeling VAR would have a say AGAIN........... but in our favour. The reason being, if there was anything controversial, it wouldn't matter in this game because it doesn't involve the big/new money clubs and it's one of those games that can "ev...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
And, by today's standards, the ref had a decent game. The bar is low mind you, but he didn't screw up the big calls, not that there were too many. Exactly my thoughts WCp. Mind you, after two games, I'm still at a loss what the difference is between a full on shove (foul) and a shoulder-to-shoulder...

So Paqueta's nudge then is deemed a foul, yet Kudus being wiped out at the weekend wasn't.

All seemed to start when Roy Keane and Co. abused the referee and all Ferguson said was the ref should have stood his ground.Patsy Belgium wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 11:24 am Officials have lost all control of the diving and cheating by not clamping down on it for years it’s all of their making.

I agree with all you say here but I don't blame shearer for laughing it off. If it had gone the other way and one of the Cole brothers had been there I think they'd have done similar One of The Cole brothers was there and didn't call Newcastle or the officials out on any of the decisions. Still, th...

3-1 up v Brighton. Ended 3-3 3-0 v Arsenal. Ended 3-3 3-0 up to Palace, Wolves, Leicester. Ended up clinging on to 3-2. Yesterday. 2-1 up v Brentford, end up losing 3-2 Just a few examples that spring to mind.. One of Eggs Jnr 1's friends is best friends with one of our recently departed players. A...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread
Well said , Macca - I don't mind losing to the two cracking goals scored by Harvey Barnes but those 2 penalties ' won ' by Gordon were a cynical disgrace to football yet the Ref and the VAR team allowed it - why ? I'd be embarrassed to win like that if I were Eddie Howe . The thing is TOMoS, Eddie ...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
Been thinking this for a while now. Bielsa transformed Leeds overnight (if we're being really simplistic) and won the Championship at a canter, and got them ninth in their first Prem season, with the likes of Stuart Dallas, Liam Cooper and Tyler Roberts being regulars. Looks like Phillips, amongst ...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread
Gordon is a cheating little **** I reckon he's going to do his "penalty trick" one too many times and he's going to get in the way of a defender in full swing of a thunder**t clearance and he'll cause himself some serious damage. I'm certainly not the type to wish serious injury on any pl...

I'll say one thing......kenthammer1984 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 11:38 pm Watched the highlights on motd and they didn’t even mention the penalties being contentious?!
Had both penalty decisions been waived away, Shearer would have been hosting a Motd special analysing every camera angle with Keown agreeing with every word.

Beacsue a shoulder barge is allowed Irrespective of the Phillips one, the Dan Burn one is not a foul IMHO I get a shoulder to shoulder challenge Crouchy, but if you look at pheonix232's post on page 64, it couldn't be further from shoulder to shoulder. I know I could be accused of having a large pa...

The thing is eggy, if it was that nailed on, why does it take VAR nearly five minutes to come to the decision?westham, eggyandchips wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 3:44 pm First one was a stick on pen.
The argument to whether it was offside is another matter.
