Re: Sunderland V West Ham: Match thread

Regarding Noble that many are once again digging out to the extent of dropping him here's a comparison between him, the team and another player that played alongside him - Overall team pass completion 83% Noble pass completion 85% from 62 passes - 1 tackle Kouyate pass completion 78% from 32 passes...

Re: Sunderland V West Ham: Match thread

We need to drop Mark Noble for that one,. We can't have the luxury of players thinking it is permissible to give 4 out 10 performances every week against a team, any team come to that, especially one that is flying at the moment Palace ain't flying, they're just winning games. Pretty much like us a...

Re: Antonio

Ok, none of this "he's raw" nonsense', what's the real crack ? Sunderland away, worst team in the league, down by a goal against 10 men on 60 mins, level and looking to win it after 63 mins, the player in his position is subbed as per every other game, yet again no sign at all of Antonio. ...

Re: Sunderland V West Ham: Match thread

Read about rumours of Advocaat and their sporting director being close to resigning today. Sounds like a club in disarray so I really hope we take the opportunity to put them to the sword and bag another 3 points. COYI The Sporting Directir has quit this morning. He's very, very well thought of Con...

Re: Antonio

I understood the Obiang sub yesterday and as many have said, it was due to our shape.

But Lanzini comes off every game too, and we seemed to lose our shape again when that happened yesterday, and that ended in conceding.

Re: Antonio

He's a decent prospect but he's not the finished article. I think it's down to that really and him being gradually introduced, rather than thrown in which isn't necessary as we're doing OK. Not sure about that really Dave. Surely there'd be no better time to gradually introduce him against Newcastl...

Re: Antonio

What am I missing here ?

Three games available in, brought on in only one with Moses and Lanzini being brought off in all and a total of 30 mins ?

He was bought for decent money, not a loan or freebie.

Re: West Ham United V Norwich City: Match thread

They all big games each week and none bigger than your next one so I'd love to win this, but I think it'll be a draw. I do feel we have to mix up our play and tactics though. Norwich at home is a very different proposition to Arsenal, City and Liverpool away and I hope we adapt accordingly. An early...

Re: Leicester City v West Ham Utd: match thread

Whilst I'll agree with you entirely about us trying not to make so many unforced errors in the team, I don't however subscribe to the idea we should be trying to dominate possession. Why I say that is because in all the games we've lost too so far we've actually had very high possession vs Leiceste...

Re: Leicester City v West Ham Utd: match thread

Another wonky one IMO. It was a keep ball session for us with a decent strengthen team which was a must after the Europa debacle and a couple of players like Moses and Carroll getting more match fitness. We had 60% plus possession in an away game, Bilic teams don't play like that when they're being ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: Match Thread

Yeah I don't think Ogbonna started well at all, irrespective of the injury unless he was carrying it for while which could explain how he played.

Re: West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: Match Thread

I watched the game again last night (saddo I know ) and without the obvious stuff, there was a couple of things I picked up which haven't really been talked about. Firstly James Tomkins was absolutely superb both before the AOgbonna sub and afterwards, he virtually never put a foot wrong all night a...

Re: Manchester City v West Ham United: Match Thread

possibly because you only scored in the 90th minute, and they also missed some guilt edged chances to nick the game...you didn't steam roller them like you have with other teams... And that was with a starting XI that cost close to a quarter of a billion £ with £80m coming off the bench compared to...

Re: Andy Carroll

I wouldn't be surprised to see Payet set up ten goals for him on his own this season if he gets a good run of games. Some of the set pieces he puts are are just crying out for Carroll to smash them in the back of the net. My mind was going that way when I saw that video today of Carroll scoring the...
