Good post.
Hopefully they don’t do it in the way it ended with Alardyce and announce he’s left the club 10 minutes after the last game of the season has ended.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He should. It's the sort of thing we used to be known for. Been along time since we have had a manager that deserves such a rousing send off and he will probably be waved off with Moyes out banners. If we do go out on Thursday, it would be fitting if he then came out and said he’s off at the end of...

Good point, though I’m not sure that Moyes gets the same kind of love (looking for a better word) from west ham supporterrs, as Klopp will get from Liverpool supporters?

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Or we could just leave the club legend we have in charge in charge to see out the season and give him a send off befitting what he has done here. That is likely to happen and for bringing us our first trophy for 43 years he is a club legend in that respect. Not sure of the send off he will get thou...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Got a feeling he could be sent on gardening leave after Thursday. I can’t see it happening but an interim manager coming in for the last half a dozen of games, such as a club legend could galvanize the team for a final push. The feeling of deflation if we do go out on Thursday night will be huge, a...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

You're being very kind to him. He wouldn't make my best West Ham XI of the last decade. £85m. take the money and run. I agree. Take the money and buy two good standard players with it. No way he gets in my best eleven of recent years either. I think he was considered a next level signing - this thr...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

He was considered a next level signing. Came to us as a stepping stone to a bigger club. Only way to keep players like that happy is to continue to add similar standard players to the squad. He’s seen that most of his current teammates are not on his wavelength, and Man City are keen on signing him....

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

Important player for us in our current playing style. I’d never noticed him prior to him playing against us for Lyon, and even then he didn’t stand out as a player I thought would be a good signing for us. (Aouar was the player for Lyon that impressed me) Hopefully we can find an equally good signin...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Moyes in / Moyes out - either way - would most agree that it’s been the best 3 consistant years of supporting the club? By that I mean, Europe and away European travelling with like minded supporters, plus no longer fearing relegation. I think it’s the right time to change manager but the last 3 yea...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I wholeheartedly blame the club & mainly the manager & Newman for the Scamacca debacle. I totally agree he wasn’t made for our league but unforgivable he was signed in the first place after ‘waiting for the right one’ for so long. They identified a good player, which unfortunately for us di...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He faces a dilemna now. Who does he rest against Fulham ? Has to play Fabianski if Areola is still injured. Play Paqueta, Emerson as they can’t play Thursday. Play Alvarez with Philips (in fit). Id then say rest all of the other players that played last night, but then we’d be relying on at least o...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Can’t fault Moyes tonight. The plan worked for 80 minutes. Even at 87 minutes I think it was a good night, against a very good team, until the 2nd goal went in. The lack of quality in squad depth is what will damage us now, it was always on the cards at some stage in the season. Who’s fault that is ...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

I might be in the minority but I don’t think that’s a catastrophic result. No Alvarez, no Bowen and away from home against arguably the best team in Europe. Under the lights at home, Alvarez back - we’ve half a chance. Before the game I was saying to fellow supporters that I’d take 2-0 away defeat ...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

That 2nd goal has probably done us.
Great effort from all the players for 80 minutes though.
Lack of quality in squad depth now is really going to tell next Thursday.
Moyes putting together a team that some how has to win by two clear goals (for it to then go to Pens) will take a miracle.

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

We’ve done really well so far, especially Fabianski and the defence. Need to see more from Kudus. They look slow in defence. I’d be telling him to run at them. Balls over the top. God knows what team we will be able to put out next week !

The highest placed team Man City have left to play is us.
I think Arsenal comfortably win their remaining games.
Spurs might be the exception - due to the rivalry.
Opinions eh. It’s a funny old game.

I don't think I've disliked a team so much since Man Utd in the 90s My hatred for Spurs is more, but I know what you mean. Can’t stand Arteta and hope Rice wins nothing at Arsenal. I hope I’m wrong but I can see Arsenal going all the way now. Arsenal have the easier run in. Almost want spurs to win...

Good win. Sounded like we improved after a very poor first half.
More importantly - how bad was Bowen’s injury?
