Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Ex just confirmed the following on his Patreon: - Coventry is joining MK Dons on loan; - Carroll wasn’t at the training ground. He apparently didn’t enjoy the best relationship with David Moyes whilst here under Moyes’ previous spell. He was even sent home from training and fined two weeks wages fol...

Re: Michail Antonio: club legend?

Yes, he’s a club legend for me. - A HOTY winner; - Our highest ever Premier League scorer; - Part of the squad that claimed our highest ever points total in the Premier League; - Part of a squad that won the most amount of games in a Premier League season; - Part of a squad that won the most amount ...

Re: Declan Rice

For him to stay beyond this season we need to win either the FA cup or the EL. I think he’ll stay as long as we are in some sort of European competition for at least 1 more season. I’m not worried. Other than possibly Man Utd, I can’t see which other top 6 club are likely to come in for him this co...

Yes, we haven’t won in the League there since 2007. And Moyes has never ever won a League game there as a visiting manager.

Records are there to be broken. :newthumb:

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

As others have said, Beilsa had our number. He had a week to review and identify our weaknesses and would have been naive not to expect him to. We needed to change it up and didn’t. - couple that with a couple of poor performances our end, game over. Beilsa certainly did. He was very clever yesterd...

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs

No, you might have had question marks, but none of the goals we let in vs Leeds were his fault, they were all down to the defence/midfield. The first goal, he actually saved the initial shot, and somehow got his fingertips to the follow up, but when a player has a free shot barely 12 yards out the ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

is it just our defence though? Or does our style of play also make us susceptible to conceding goals? Both. I think a lot of us are really underestimating the damage Rice’s surge forwards are doing to the team from a defensive perspective. If we are going to allow Rice to keep doing that then for m...

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs

Some very harsh criticism here imo. Far from it. We’ve conceded 2+ goals in half our Premier League matches this season. We’ve become a cropper. And questions should be asked of all our defensive players. He has been a great goalkeeper for us. But he is definitely on the decline. Whether Areola is ...

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs

We’ve played 22 games now. And we’ve had question marks over a goal, or goals he has conceded in the following games:

- Leicester (H)
- Palace (H)
- Man Utd (H)
- Brentford (H)
- Villa (A)
- Chelsea (H)
- Leeds (H)

And we are just over halfway through the season.

Re: Andriy Yarmolenko

Out of interest, since the start of last season what’s his record for goals and assists he’s contributed to when coming off the bench? I feel like he literally doesn’t do anything every time he comes on. Which begs the question why does Moyes keep bringing him on? If he’s hardly done anything for ov...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

If we are being brutally honest the score line flattered us. We should’ve lost a lot more comfortably than we did. They missed 2 good chances before half time, had a goal ruled out for offside, Raphinha hit the bar/post from a freekick. And that’s just off the top of my head! We were extremely lucky...

Re: The Case for the Defence

I’ve just had a look at all our Premier League results. In 11 of our 22 games, I.e. half of them, we have conceded 2+ goals! https://www.premierleague.com/clubs/25/West-Ham-United/results Yes, 4 of those was against Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd. But Christ, that is really really ...

Re: ✍ Alex Král

It wasn’t even yesterday’s game when it finally sunk in for me that Moyes can’t fancy him. It was the Norwich game. Not just because he didn’t start the game, but because at 2-0 up with only minutes remaining he still didn’t bring him on. If you can’t trust a central midfielder to come on at 2-0 up,...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

The majority of our investment into the squad for this window and the summer needs to go on the defensive side of the team if we seriously want to challenge for a top 7 team every season. We need quality, not quantity. From next season I don’t want to be saying the following on a regular basis: - “T...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

The same weaknesses I mentioned on here came home to roost today. - Centre halves outside of Zouma and Ogbonna are not good enough. And yet are playing every week. Albeit no fault of their own! - Leftback area defensively weak again. - Back up for Rice &/or Soucek non-existent. - No one to bring...

I’d love to know why Moyes keeps shoving him on the left when more often than not he plays centrally for his previous club and country.
