Re: 2019 General Election

Frustrating this is, someone like Clive Lewis or Keir Starmer as leader of Labour would be wiping the floor with the current Tory mob. If that poll does turn out to be accurate, then at least we can say the 'momentum' experiment will be finished!

2019 General Election

With Labour agreeing for a General Election, I thought it would be good to create a separate thread to discuss the election! My bet is another hung parliament.

Re: Brexit referendum result aftermath

I have today resigned my membership of the Labour party and signed up to the Lib Dems. The party has shifted so far from what I believe in, and stand for, it's beyond pathetic. Having family in Momentum and seeing the goings-on with bullying, infighting and the horrific atmosphere enough is truly en...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

Disgraceful first half, literally no endeavour apart from the backline. Can deal with being outclassed by better opponents (which Everton are not) I cannot deal with not putting the effort in.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread

So frustrating yesterday, our build-up play was too slow, on the odd occasion that we passed the ball quickly we created clear opportunities, including the goal!

Re: Brexit referendum result aftermath

As far as I am aware, the Common Travel Area (CTA) exists outside of EU Law. This will still be in place after Brexit, deal or no deal. So the movement of people between NI, ROI and Mainland UK will stay as it is now. The easiest way to get past the Irish Border challenge is border checks at the Iri...

Re: Brexit referendum result aftermath

Looks like the UK Government is floating with the idea of 'Customs Clearance Centers' between 5 and 10 miles back from the Irish border. Surely this represents 'border infrastructure' which is a clear breach of the GFA? As a tweet on the responses asks, So if I’ve got a transit van full of beef, her...

Decent win, performance could be better, kudos to Newport who played really well I thought. Abrahams up top for them impressed with his non-stop chasing and pressing.

Onto the next one!

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

In regards to the digital wrap on the outside of the OS, does anyone know why it was not installed the full 270 degrees around the stadium?

I seem to recall it being spoken about but the digital board is much smaller than 270 degrees!

Outsourcing, a nice idea, but it has it's limitations.
Some say bullying, some say that he is 'standing up for his member's interests'

He is here now until the end of the season, so I am behind him 100%. Worry about him leaving in the summer when the summer comes.

Absolutely fantastic result, some of the football that we are playing is great to see. Given that the first few games were always going to be tough with MP bedding in, I predict that next season will be one of the best in the clubs recent history! Did I hear Pellegrini's Claret and Blue Army coming ...

Re: Brexit referendum result aftermath

Under WTO rules, unless you’re in a free trade bloc like the EU or NAFTA, you have to obey the “most favoured nation” rule. That means if you lower trade tariffs for one trading partner, you have to lower tariffs to all your other partners. Professor O’Donoghue explains: “If the UK chooses not to im...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Forgive my ignorance, but if there is contaminated soil under the OS, can't they just dig it up and take it away? I am pretty certain that they did that for most of the Olympic Park?

Digging down is the only way that this can be fixed, short of a complete demolish job.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 74 days remaining

Seeing us linked with Patrick Roberts from City. England U21 International. Not seen too much of him, so cannot pass judgement. Nice to be linked with younger players for a change! Would love Loftus-Cheek here. If there is a chance of signing him then we need to act quickly as he smacks of an Everto...
