Re: Javier Hernandez Signs

unless someone else steps up - his leaving could well felt in the form of 3 or 4 points. Point taken, but I'd hope that Lanzini, Fornals, Anderson etc could step up in this situation, whilst also offering something over the whole season, rather than Hernandez who may dig us out a hole but offers ve...

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs

That's his game though. He's not a link man, he's not there to win or hold the ball up, to use Hernandez properly you need other players to feed him the ball in the box, to feet and let him finish. We haven't played that way when he's been here so he's always been a bad fit. Which is fair enough, i...

Re: Javier Hernandez Signs

Did anyone actually see Hernandez play for us when he was here?

For all the talk of him being an out and out goalscorer or offering something different, it was like playing with 10 men with him on the pitch.

Re: ⚽ Newport County v West Ham United: FL Cup Match Thread

The way MP wants to play, we'll always let teams have chances unfortunately. As long as we we're putting away ours I'm not massively bothered. My main gripe is the sloppiness in possession when we're attacking/trying to transition.

Weathers cheered up now, a balmy 20 degrees. Sunny intervals and a fresh breeze, larvely.

I echo what a lot have said before, I'm not hugely confident. If we can't get the win, I'd love an exciting 3-3. I just don't want to be bored/frustrated like last year, few beers in the sunshine and a few songs :scarfer:

How many managers keep picking him? Pardew, Curbs, Zola, Grant, Big Sam, Bilic, Moyes, Pel Boy... he must do something right.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

I think the "smaller grounds generate better atmosphere" thing is a myth. You watch a Bournemouth (or whoever) game on Sky. For long periods of time it's completely silent, you can here individual voices. I'd argue that nowadays very few grounds have a good atmosphere, bar teams that are ...

Play like that and win every week, I don't care. There's something really great about getting a goal against the run of play.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs Watford FC: match thread

In terms of success, so discounting games where we've needed a win to avoid relegation, is this the most important game at our new home? Win by a few goals and we could go 6 with a positive goal difference, a real shift in what has become the status quo over in Stratford. There's so much crap still ...

Re: Andy Carroll

:fsake: sure, who cares if his wages could be used on a left back (or whatever). You think if he wasn't earning it, it would be spent on a left back? Come on. *edit* I should add, do you think the reason it's not being spent on a left back, with Carroll on the books, is because we don't have that k...

Can't be suspended if you're not available 8-)

Joking of course, I don't really get the hysteria around him now. We don't rely on him. It's not your money.

To try and put a positive spin on it, at least we have players again that bigger teams (might) want to buy! Bar Payet, in the last few years we haven't been able to give our players away.

Clutching I know.

Completely invisible, and it's got nothing to do with playing to his strengths. Even if a team isn't set up around you that doesn't mean you can't at least run.
