Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
He's done a remarkable job of integrating our new players. Every player we needed to step up and perform for us, whether it be Areola, Paqueta, Emerson, etc. have done so. And all the new summer signings are already firing on all cylinders. Weve had our fair share of flops but ultimately under Moyes...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Mohammed Kudus
I don't see him replacing Antonio at all, especially in Moyes system. That essentially negates all his positive attributes. Only way itd work is if Moyes took a page from Klopp's book and tried to replicate mane/Firmino/Salah. Hes also unproven on the left and thats our weakest position on the pitch...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leicester City: match thread
Scamacca and Paqueta are players. Look at how Said has had a little renaissance once he's got backing from his manager. I firmly believe Moyes gets the best out of certain types of players and does well to raise a team's floor. Sometimes that's at the detriment of other players or individual players...

Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca
He hasn't gotten enough minutes and service to assess whether he's cut out for the league. To me, there are obvious parallels with Haller, a palyer I still think is borderline world class. Both Haller and Scamacca are entirely different players than Antonio. They need good service in the air oand th...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: match thread
I’d give up with the Fornals debate, has a strange cult following. I’ve had it for 2 years with my Brother who absolute loves him. He is bob average at best. I agree with this. Fornals does seem to have a cult following. I think his floor is pretty high in that he tries hard and has his moments for...

It's almost like the problem with Anderson/Haller wasn't their talent but the club that purchased them...DannyboyDJL wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 4:25 pm The alarm bells were there for me when he didn't step up to take pens or free kicks. We've signed Anderson and Haller all over again.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: match thread
What's frustrating is that we have a lot of players on the bench who are athletic and play direct, fluid football. Moyes' (rightfully) purged the club of Pellegrini's purchases and brought in players that suited his style to much success. It feels like now we've purchased players that Moyes' hasn't ...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: match thread
Can't make the correct subs. It's not even just subs. Half the team should be dropped. Fornals, Bowen, Soucek, Coufal, and Cresswell. We have as much, if not significantly more, quality on the bench. It would just require a complete reworking of our tactics and Moyes' seems stubbornly insistent on ...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: match thread
Why is the man above criticism? If he was as good as you say he would show signs of it on the pitch. Payet was world class at his peak for us and would show it, even when others were playing badly around him. Again. He starts for Brazil in a competitive position. He has very little to prove. Consid...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: match thread
Sadly it is not that ridiculous is it? Something is really wrong and there is no sign of it changing. Unfortunately we can't change the players (at the moment) so it is the manager. Moyes will go if things don't change (and I fear he has not the skills to do so) so do we wait or not? People calling...

Still annoyed people taking shots at Paqueta. The man starts for Brazil and has an excellent partnership with Neymar.
It's obvious Paqueta isn't the problem.

Fornals, Bowen, and Soucek need to be dropped. Coufal has been woeful.
Annoys me to no end that Benny and Scamacca in particular are not playing.

Re: Nikola Vlasic
He is our cover for Antonio. He is the only person in our front line who you'd trust with his back to a defender, holding up the ball, allowing Benrahma, Bowen, etc., to make runs. If Antonio is healthy, then he adds extra depth to our current front line and raises competition levels. If he's 80% of...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021
Truth is, Antonio is a unique player and we can't easily replicate that by punting on some cheap backup. If he goes down and we have to revert to a traditional striker, we are likely to see shades of the Haller situation. Instead, I imagine Moyes is eyeing the likes of Liverpool and Man City where y...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021
Feels like Moyes only buys players he absolutely wants/believes in. I am sure we are tracking several strikers but I wouldn't be surprised if he turns down the opportunity to buy someone who makes sense on paper but he doesn't rate. Especially if he can use that money and pick up a player at another...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021
As others have said, Kral have a poor showing probably benefits us. Moyes has proven to be a good evaluator talent, so if he still rates him, all the better.
Especially if he get him on a reasonable knockdown price or loan to buy. If he played out of his mind we would have been priced out.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021
If we get Kral and a LB I'd be overjoyed. I'm totally fine watching us score goals by committee if Antonio goes down. However, if Rice and/or Soucek are out, our system crumbles very quickly. Similarly, I think Cresswell is the real weakness in our backline - really below average athlete that strugg...
