Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

Barcelona have apparently released Sergino Dest on a free transfer - American full back, 22 (turns 23 in November, so basically on the decline already) and can cover both left & right back. Couldnt get into Barcelonas squad, sent on loan to AC MIlan last year and he did also struggle to break i...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread

A Panama who just beat the US, didn’t they? And a lot of dealing with the press is passing options, and that really is a bad Mexico side. I wouldn’t judge too much on that, and one game. My good sir, youve got to focus less on the red flags. We aren’t signing a player without one, we aren’t good en...

Re: Moyes to stay. confirmed via BBC Sport

Happy he is staying... particularly because we don't have the budget (allegedly) for another squad overhaul / tactics shakeup. Moyes seems to have a pulse on how to deal with Sully and the board...in general, our transfer market business has been much better under Moyes... not saying perfect, but it...

Re: Declan Rice

If Declan leaves, I view it as an opportunity. £92m, the latest figure being mooted, is a huge war chest to spend on new players. The problem is we tend to waste money. If we squander it this time, £92m won't seem like nearly enough. Whoever we bring in, they will forever be the player we purchased...

Re: Declan Rice

He can both love playing for us and being with us, whilst feeling he needs to move for the betterment of his career. People mock the new European competitions, but thank god for them. Think the FA Cup has been won by nine clubs since the Prem began. Everton in the early 90s, shock wins for Wigan an...

Re: What frustrates you the most when watching a football match?

Diving and ****ing injuries for sure.

I've seen gunshot victims showing less signs of pain than your average footballer trying to draw a foul. I know its part of football "culture" but it has always aggravated me.

What was he struck with anyways, those looked like plastic mugs, maybe I missed but that was a lot of Blood for a plastic mug to cause ? Not condoning the behavior but seemed like an unintended consequence given what was thrown (unless it was something else?) Just saw comments from Fiorentina manage...

Re: ✍ Gianluca Scamacca

“and that’s not him.” Not “and he’s not that”. I see it’s been corrected with a new tweet by that person. But little things like that serve to completely change the context of what Antonio is saying and make it sound much more sinister. Michail is saying what most say about him. Quality player, doe...

Re: Summer Rebuild 2: Electric Boogaloo

If Leeds go down I like the young American trio of Aaronson, McKinnie and Tyler Adams... Adams in particular would be a solid young player to add at DM especially with Rice situation. He is also USMNT captain so assuming he has some leadership qualities as well. I cant imagine any of those 3 costing...

I think this is the best method given the amount of time between matches.

Guillain–Barré is incredibly varied in severity and duration. It's pretty common for sufferers to have long-term pain and fatigue even after all the initial symptoms have resolved which could significantly affect your athletic ability and are frustratingly invisible. It's a pretty shocking conditio...

Re: Declan Rice

If he really is one of the best players in the world, much better teams than Arsenal would be in for him. If Arsenal is as good as it gets, then he's not as good as many think . It's interesting to see that Saliba has yet to sign a new deal and Saka has signed a relatively short deal that will enab...

Re: Takeover talk

I got the comment removed for it being too personal about him being a bad guy probably but I’ll just say this. British West Ham ‘fans’ tore us away from our home, bulldozed it and sold it off for their own benefit. I keep thinking this as well... Not sure what else a foreign, oil, US etc.. could do...

Re: ✍ Welcome to West Ham, Said Benrahma

Benny can be a an equally frustrating and mesmerizing player to watch. He will create opportunities on his own out of nothing with superb instincts and ball handling…but then put a sitter 20 yards over the crossbar on the next play. For whatever reason he has a mental block when it comes to finishin...

Re: Salary cap on the way?

Nice idea in principle but that train left the station a long time ago. Agreed. Especially at a global level...I looked it up and Serie A only brings in about 50% of what EPL does each year. How do you set cap # between those leagues ? or does each league have its own wage cap? Why would the player...

This seems a whole lot more daunting considering we have 5 wins in 23. Hopefully we turn a corner and get Zouma/Cornet/Paqueta back.
