Re: Nathan Holland

from what I remember Holland was doing ok in the oxford game but was taken off at half time. then we collapsed ! got to be worth a place on the bench at home to Sheffield ? we don't need all three of wilshere fornals and Snodgrass. one needs to make way for Holland. I would drop wilshere . For me, ...

It's like Pelboy is being hamstrung by somebody..
Hmm, in this case Samba I think Pellegrini himself is just as guilty.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

Finally put myself through MOTD to see the "highlights". I missed it live but Rice was absolutely dead on his feet for their 2nd. The decision to not sign another DM style combative midfielder to go in there with him or as back up just looks worse every week. I mentioned the comment about Declan ea...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

The stats are interesting, but they don't tell you the whole story. I'd guess (if we're into stats) that 100% of our passes lacked any type of incisiveness or penetration... A high percentage must be across the pitch from Diop to Ogbonna and vice versa. Drives me nuts. Get the bloody ball forward q...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

Well said Doc... Rice is excellent bringing the ball out and distributing..finds time to.get his head up before a pass as well. As I said on another thread, despite his England call ups imo Rice is having a relatively poor second season so far. He is only 20 and that happens with young players. He ...

Be interesting to see how they play against the Arseoles tonight. If they win they will be well up for it at our place on Saturday.

Don't look very often on the Official Site but I imagine as usual there will be a few players on there saying we must do better. Shame they don't have that attitude before they actually play the games.

I'd agree with all of that psycho, the throw in thing is maddening
Giving away possession from our throw ins is yet another sign of our lack of real competitiveness. Doesn't seem Pellegrini is bothered by it although it happens time and time again.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

Many of us supporters could probably write many pages on what we feel has been and is wrong at WHUFC. However, most of us hoped this bloke would at least provide a team playing exciting football. To be honest, the squad is as unbalanced as it has ever been in terms of not having decent alternatives ...

Re: Other fixtures 19/20/21 October

I would like to see Rice play more of an advanced role for us, similar to that McTominay played for Man U in this game They are very similar players IMHO Imho Rice has been largely poor this season compared to his first season. That happens with young players. However, because of poor recruitment i...

I can never understand his English when he gives an interview on TV or radio. I wonder if the players can understand what he says on the training ground?

Maybe he will come good for us like Gareth Bale did for spurs.
Dodgy keeper. You don't get anywhere with a dodgy keeper, reserve or not. And the signing of David Martin will mystify me forever.

@ExWHUemployee
Unfortunately we have picked up a couple of injuries so there are changes to the starting eleven today

Anyone taking bets on who? I'm going for Haller and Rice.
If so, no chance. Bad defeat.

Re: Nostalgia

Been in the Carpenters a few times. Rammed each time and yet to get served. Once couldn't even get in the door. We had to go elsewhere. Get there earlier would have been a good idea I suppose. Getting on now anyway so prefer a sit down somewhere. Did hear some singing from a pub on other side of Str...

It always amuses me to see people chucking cold beer down their throats whilst standing in the ice cold concourse in mid-winter. When I tried it, my hand stuck to the plastic beaker. The beer tasted crap too.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

I wish Everton were in a bit of form going into this one, I would feel a bit more confident, bizarre as it sounds. How many times have we played teams who are on a bad run only to end up getting comfortably beaten by them. Hope lessons have been learned from the Palace loss. Got to put Everton unde...

Unfortunately, it's a notch down from Spursy. It's like being chest deep in a bog of mud, every so often you can feel yourself pulling free onto the next level, but the mud just sucks you down once again. Made me laugh that. True though. League-wise it's been like that for most of the 60 years I ha...

I'll go one better. 13th after the usual rollercoaster. I think we are still fragile in terms of squad depth in vital positions, especially up front and bearing in mind our usual injury curse. Glass half empty person me.
