Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I think the real answer to the ground sale 'conspiracy' is much more mundane When the original deal was signed the property market was in a post-financial crisis slump. By the time the deal actually went through the property market had suddenly revived which prompted the developers to pay a lot more...

Re: FA Cup replays scrapped
I don't get the negative response. Non league team holds Premier league team to a draw after battering them for 90 minute6. Premier team escapes to the comfort of their own ground. I think the replay system favours the big clubs

Fantastic night, finished how we expected In the end but for 45 minutes we battered the German champions. Truly great night, shame it didn't finish how we wanted

everyone wants him to play in the middle. He played there sunday and kept losing the ball including for the 2nd goal. At least out on the left he can't do as much damage

He's allegedly an elite level player but can't hit the target when the ball falls to him unmarked, then gives the ball away for them to score 2nd. Beyondawful

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
Sometimes european games are dead after the first leg (see brighton). The aim was to keep it alive. It's slipping into unconciousness but it still has a pulse. It's really pointless to say we lost this game because of who we didn't sign in January. Maybe we lost it because alvarez got a pointless bo...

I've been saying this for ages when people were convinced he'd sell up last year. He's Mr. West Ham don't ye know.Patsy Belgium wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 2:23 pm The **** will be here till the grim reaper calls then we’ll have the soppy offspring at the helm.

Having to base my opinion on MOTD only but thought Emerson's goal should not have been disallowed, The 'equaliser' was rightly if annoyingly chalked off, and their penalty was soft. Emerson gets the ball then their legs tangle.

Re: ✍ Welcome Alphonse Areola
Fab's handling and long kicking is much better, Areola has the advantage in shot-stopping and close distribution. We are so lucky that we have two top keepers to call on

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
Thought it was a very even game which ebbed and flows. Robbie Savage made the point about moyes subs. "why would he when this 11 is doing so well" He was going to bring Ings on for Antonio, but we got a corner and so didn't make the change. Spurs made 5 subs and got worse. I thought we pla...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
How did the system not need changing. Newcastle had missed a couple of decent chances and were pushing for a foothold. Our 2 man midfield needed some help. In hindsight anyone except Phillips would have done a better job, but the tactic was right especially as Antonio rarely does more than 60 minute...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread
Cheating ? A new "invention". Absolute nonsense. Leeds United circa 1970 were the media darlings of the day. "Professionalism" their particular brand of cheating was called then. And I'm also sure people who watched the game back then will remember the late Francis Lee being ref...

We’ve been dealt some proper **** decisions this season but this one just beggars all belief. Whatever anyone says, without that gift of a penalty, the Geordie magg...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I read consistently that we 'sit back' and try to defend a lead. I think that view forgets that 2 teams are playing. When we played Burnley at home did they sit back and defend or did we switch around and push forward? Think back to our game at spurs in covid where we were 3-0 down in twenty minutes...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread
Having watched MOTD this morming, I thought Fab should've saved their 4th goal It's difficult to assess 1v1 with keepers. They have to spread if they want to narrow the angles which leaves a gap through their legs which they can stop by going down early which then leaves them vulnerable to the ball...
