Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
My extended family made exact same comments when we spoke yesterday. MOTD started at circa 11 minutes with Villa’s first attack. In reality, we came out and piled in for 10:55 mins and nothing shown of it. This on a day when only one game. Imagine how much coverage one game would have got if it was...

Re: VAR 2023/24
The audio has been released on the last minute Villa goal that wasn't. It sounds like they are desperate to disallow it, even rolling the tape back to look for a phantom offside as that would be easier to disallow it with. And there's the problem. It's not "Is there any reason this goal is not...

This is true, but it isn't what we did. There are two teams in a match and villa tried to be more positive 2nd half. We drew with a team 3 places above us and had 3 goals disallowed. So negative

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Perhaps our fans were behind the team because people who went were those who really wanted to be there. Some of the regular sth seem to only go to have a moan

Can Antonio play another game so soon? If he can I'd definitely start him. With Antonio kudos and bowen we have a fluid and potent front 3

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady
There are already reasonable grounds to restrict capacity on wet weather days at the LS. One person slipping over in a concourse puddle and taking the Stadium operator to court is all it could take. One accident . One. I know as west ham supporters we tend to expect the worst, but that's another le...

Re: Late David Gold, Sullivan and Brady
The stadium millstone. Sullivan views it as a positive because it costs us precious little. Serious investors see it as a drawback due to it's lack of suitability, Once ghe new PSR kick in, it will really bite. Personally I'm with sullivan (there's a phrase you won't often hear) on this. Ratcliff h...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
despite the low attendance, I know officially 62441 were there, I thought the atmosphere second half was ok. my seat was dry but why were the TV screens not working and showing the spurs game on them before kick off ? the stadium is really poor and every week there is something wrong with it. onto ...

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24
Interesting thought. If Mav doesn't put that ball into his own net and we go in one goal down, would Moyes have made half-time subs? Obviously we'll never know but I have a feeling that we'd have come out 2nd half with the same line-up. It all made for a brilliant Jekyll and Hyde performance, very o...

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24
Had we not been mugged by the ref/VAR at Bramall Lane and yesterday we’d be level on points with Man Utd and 6 points behind the Spuds. I wonder if the handball would’ve been ignored had it happened in yesterday’s game at Anfield? Like f*ck would it! They had their own VAR controversy to deal with

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
The complaints about moyes. He plays the same team, he never makes subs. He made a couple of changes to rest players. It didn't work. He made 2 subs at half time. It changed the game.. what on earth do people expect. It wZ a dreadful first half. Great response 2nd

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Well, they are top half in the bundesliga, so they aren't exactly Accrington Stanley. Bowen and Mav missed chances they should have buried which is why we lost. Tactically everything worked OK, but if you don't take your chances your'e always likely to regret it

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24
I don't understand some of the criticism at all. It was looking like a good european away performance (albeit one were we should have scored at least 2) until the goal. Where we've been clinical in our last two games we were wasteful tonight.. Strangely Rangers score an almost identical goal against...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
In Brady’s “deal of the century “ as tenants we are unable to sublet the ground for further income. The owners reap the rewards. It's swings and roundabouts though. We rent the stadium for a pittance, but it begins and ends there. Spurs absolutely HAVE to have a continuous income stream from outsid...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
The thing which is a real positive about the stadium is the ability to walk round the concourse from one section to another. I have family scattered around the whole east side and they'll often come round at half time to chat about the game. (my youngest son rarely leaves the bar) The catering outsi...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
It's obvious that many people loathe the London stadium and that's fair enough. Some of the complaints just puzzle me though. The walk to the stadium is one. Nowdays I come out of the station, walk through Westfield, up the escalater, out past all the restaurants, past the swimming pool and over the...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Never went to a match at UP before seating. Absolute chalk and cheese. The pitch was so tight on all four sides there was no chance for a run up for a long throw. It's not just football. I'm not a rugby fan but happened to be watching the first 10 minutes of Ireland v Wales on TV recently. The Iris...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Your last sentence is obviously true. However the difference between the London Stadium and any other ground new or old is the distance from the pitch and the impact this has on the feeling of involvement with the games that this gives the fans. Its an athletics stadium, not a football stadium. We ...
