Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
Not said anything about his ability just the fact it would be another loan, who if as good as you say, will not leave Barcelona permanently for us.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
IMO, the signings are as follows:
Payet - Good
Ogbonna - Poor
Obians - I envisage a Peter Butler type who won't be a first teamer.
Lanzini - No idea but I have serious doubts about the mentality of a 20 year old player who goes and plays in the UAE.
Jenkinson - No opinion.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
I call every loan a stop gap.
If they are exceptional bigger clubs will sign them next summer. No good and they go back to their club.
That's not building for the future IMO.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
So, if Middlesborough sign Rhodes, then you can add Boro (when it happens) and Newcastle to the list. I stand by my point though, We've brought in 6 players for £23m on the 23rd July and only 4 teams in the country have outspent us. What exactly were you expecting?
I make our net spend betwe...

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
We've spent £23m so far and brought in 6 new players and it's the 23rd July. Only Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool have spent more than we have thus far on transfers. In 'relative terms' what exactly were you expecting?
We got between £5 - 7 million for Downing so that figure...

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
Like the Payet signing but the rest, IMO, offer no real improvement. Lost our most creative player. In my eyes, much of a muchness from last season. I have said it before, a couple of good signings can change that but just over 2 weeks before the season starts. I have a feeling a couple more loans w...

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
Halovic on loan? Getting a bit concerned now...it's starting to look, in relative terms, like a bargain basement transfer window. I've said it before, identify your target and pay the money.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
Jovetic is a good player......but I don't think he is right for us at the present rime. He strikes me as a player who likes to roam around, playing all across the front line and coming back to midfield.
We need a centre forward to stay up front, within the width of the 18 yard box.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
Someone just asked Gold if that was our biz done and said no we could ideally do with a striker although we do have Zarate, Carroll, Sakho and Valencia. Not sure if he forgot Maiga or hopefully it is that he is going. That isvery depressing news. We know David Gold likes to be economical with the t...

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
I think Valencia was £11m and Ogbonna £7.8m. We have been promised that we are moving forward. Going to the next level. This would be an exciting summer. Time to deliver. A spend of approximate £19m this summer is not the next level. Competing with teams such as Palace, WBA and Stoke is not the next...

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
I guess he's digging out the owners out for insinuating it was going to be an 'exciting' summer. Some supporters are getting fed up with the'big' talk of the owners followed by.........nothing.

Re: Manuel Lanzini
A youngster signed from the UAE. Definitely in the long punt basket.
Should not really be mentioned as a major signing and I would guess he won't play more than 10 games.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread
They have spent nearly £30 million on two players in last 2 weeks. I think the fans pressure got to Ashley and I reckon they will spend close to £50 million this summer.

Re: Ideal ins and out's in the summer? (Realistic(ish) only)
Really? So when we signed Alex Song on loan last season, you didn't find that exciting? It also looks to have led to a permanent move. Injuries aside. Unless there are ITK's on here everyday and us signing players at the same time, some people are just never happy. I'd like to know the percentage o...

Re: Ideal ins and out's in the summer? (Realistic(ish) only)
Come on, lets keep it real.
I just want to see a team develop over a few seasons and feel they are actually part of West Ham....these season long loans, no, not for me.
