Re: Other games 16th & 17th March
Nicklas Bendtner took his shorts off after scoring once and was indeed booked. I'm old enough to remember seeing a picture of Sammy Nelson dropping his shorts and bending over in front of Arsenal's north bank after he scored. I think he got into quite a bit of trouble over it as it was on the back ...

Re: Nottingham Forest Deducted 4 points
The trouble with points deductions this season is the clubs near the bottom dont know if they're in the relegation zone or not. 10 points, then on appeal 6. What happens if someone appeals after the season finishes? I can see litigation causing the end of football one day because it's time sensitive...

Re: Dear Citizens of the Peoples Republic of KUMB
Sometimes a poster replies to someone's opinion with something like 'you're talking s#!t'. Now, Sometimes saying that is OK to people you know well or to mates. In fact even my wife may call me a see you next Tuesday occasionally, usually in a humoured manner I add. But I wouldn't speak like that to...

Re: Plastic fantastic
Born in Norfolk but live in Somerset and was living there for my first game in 1978. My older brother was a fan after starting supporting Chelsea but liked how we played and that was that. I was often asked why I didn't follow Norwich City or Bristol City but I don't belong to those, I'm invested he...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Johnson for Antonio on 65 minutes is almost inexcusable. Thrown away three points today, we started so bloody well. The reason I disagree is that we were already in an attacking line up. But despite that Villa were pushing us deeper. I think the tactics proved Moyes right and a touch of a hand stop...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Anyone who thinks Aston Villa are a pushover are deluded.
Oh a losing Villa team upped the tempo second half while sitting in a CL spot.
Do we expect teams to come and roll over?
No. The team and Moyes were nothing less than desperately unlucky today.
And we still drew.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
I think that the Paqueta investigation needs to be opened up into a full scale enquiry into corruption within football. It is / was, allegedly rife within FIFA, I feel it is rife within the Premier League. Far too often these incidents get poured over by Stockley Park for clubs outside of the top 4...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Well in the old days we would be thoroughly entertained. Spend 20 minutes moaning about the ref. Then go and have a pint.
This was far better and yes I was entertained, bit still feel robbed.
We like it when VAR saves us though too.

Played well enough to win it.
If one of those decisions went our way it's 3 points.
Far better display than first half v Burnley.

The Antonio one should have been the one the ref looked at.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
They've made 4 subs, and momentum feels like it's starting to swing. Johnson coming on for Antonio, but let's hope that we are not planning to sit back for 30 minutes. It's likely they'll be trying for an equaliser. We started with a positive formation but we need to respond. We could be looking at...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Up on 60 minutes now. Traditional time to activate the bench. My guess is that Moyes will leave well alone unless it all turns sour. Which still feels likely. COYI At the moment I'm happy. He may need to make a tactical change. He knows how to manage a game better than me but we've done well today ...
