Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
And with that second goal, we're now officially bottom of the table. We can't even put up a fight against a Newcastle side and we don't even put out a semi-attacking side against a bottom half team at home.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
Why are we subbing Fornals and Noble at the same time? We're already lacking any players on the pitch that can pass competently. Pairing Antonio and Haller with no one supporting just behind only constraints us to lump it forward. This is really not an acceptable plan.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
It's only minutes in and I'm already hating the way we're defending. Midfielders backing away, backing away but still allowing their forwards into the pockets in between the midfield and the backs. What's the point of the midfielders backing away to keep a line when we allow the likes of Shelvey all...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread
The starting lineup tells me that we are going to be happy to concede possession again - even to the likes of Newcastle. There's not a single progressive front foot player in that line up and we're back to using Antonio only because he's went on a purple patch for 8 odd games last season, and Fornal...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Why would you hope some outbids us for a decent CB so we end up with some **** like Phil Jones ? Don’t mean we’ll end up with better full backs does it, ****ing idiot I wasn't aware that the failure to spunk 35M on someone like Tarkowski would automatically doom us to settle for a Phil Jones clone....

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
https://twitter.com/westham_gossip/status/1303671410309595142?s=21 That's worrying, sounds like Moyes genuinely believes that the CB position is root of the problem, with the Fullback positions really as an afterthought, especially if he's willing to blow the majority of the budget on a systems(und...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (12/9)
Will Soucek even be available? I thought the Czech team had to isolate the whole team and replace the first team squad with a brand new set of 22 - mostly uncapped - players for their previous game.

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Tarkowski feels more like a piece that you would buy to round out a settled squad, aimed at addressing a single issue when everything else is already in place and working well enough. I'm not sure how much of an impact he can provide when our current team is more unbalanced than settled. Even if he ...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
The point is you're trying to look at this sale out of context, when context is what defines people's reaction to it. And I have no problem with people coming into a debate with their own context. They're more than welcome to make their own inferences, but what they are not at liberty to do is to a...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I'll direct you to TTS's post above. It's not about selling Diangana, it's not even really about the fee or how they will inevitably piss it away or horde it. It's about the way the club is being run. It's also about the fact that we are bolstering a relegation rival, and we are very much in that b...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
He is 22 and has great potential. In a few years time we will be looking for a new winger and then complain we don’t have the funds. We are selling a player who could arguably have been here for the next ten years. 12m is not a reasonable price when you consider what other top Championship players ...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Grady had played about 10 premiership games? There is a casim between the Championship and the Premier League. The reaction from many is premature and disproportionate. I will reserve judgement for a week or do. We need at least 2 defenders that will be auto choice for first 11 imo. Personally i li...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Worst part is...... this could well be part of a deal for Rice. Abraham and Sarr on loan for a season plus some cash. In the long run, is that a good deal for us though?? Chelsea won't be able to loan out Sarr to another Premier League side. Pretty sure the rules states that you can't loan out a pl...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
final ball? our right back can't even find a first ball Would be nice if our fullbacks could overlap once in awhile. I know everyone is high on Johnson and he is solid enough without being spectacular, but he doesn't contribute anything on attack. Almost all of our crosses on the right has come exc...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
It's probably a step up from asking the agents.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 2:06 pm It seems as though we weren't happy with Souceks Czech recommendations so we've asked Yarmolenko instead if he knows any decent left-backs. Our players are also our scouts.

To be honest, he did as much tracking back as Diangana did in the first half, which was not a lot, but nobody complained about his work rate.HammerInMaryland wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 3:46 pm He has been lazy tracking back, but I think he has gotten into good spaces and been rather smart in moving the ball.

Not surprised with Antonio's injury history. Hopefully it's just a case of looking worse than it is.

Re: West Ham United vs Brentford: live stream inside (2pm k/o)
All this talk about Balbuena this, Fredericks that and yet no one is talking about our setup where we are constantly backing off even when we have our defensive lines set. That lead-up to the last corner before the break was a prime example, nobody on our team moved off the line until the opposition...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Honestly, if Moyes wants to priorities the defence (which has been reported) and we had £20m to spend (which is what Palace are reported as paying for Eze), would we not be signing Mykolenko or one of our left back targets? We don't need Eze. Realistically it would be like buying a third player to ...
