Re: West Ham Utd v AZ Alkmaar Europa Conference Semi Final Match Thread

Their confidence seems to come from the fact they overturned the deficit against Anderlecht, which is a pretty simplistic and naive way of looking at football. Karlsson being back means they're going to have the Swedish version of Bowen from what I can see but the opposite side and more 'trickery' ...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Lots of other places do do it. You need to get out more. I would say 90% of the 'events' I have attended over past few years have security checks. Its not pointless and I am sorry if you find it 'irritating'. I have no problem with it, and make sure I don't leave it until the last minute to get in....

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Now there is zero chance, is 30/40 blokes started singing in the upper tier of the London stadium that the noise would transfer down to the lower tiers and around the stadium, they are simply too far away and too spread about. Even when the atmosphere is “good” (Seville/Lyon at home). It’s simply j...

Re: West Ham Utd v AZ Alkmaar Europa Conference Semi Final Match Thread

The biggest plus is that we are in the lead come the 2nd leg so AZ have to come out more at some point in the game. I saw nothing last night that worried me for the 2nd leg as they hardly laid a glove on us. We turn up next Thursday and Prague awaits us, and won't that be magnificent :scarfer: :ham...

Re: West Ham Utd v AZ Alkmaar Europa Conference Semi Final Match Thread

It wasn't great, but it did get the job done but it was the manner of the win that was so disappointing. I was totally baffled by tactics to sit off and rely on counter attacking to break them down ****ing hell imagine you if we lost, we won. Who cares how it was achieved aslong as there is no cont...

Lucky goal for us.

Not sure why that doesn't count as a handball but hey ho.

Watch it cost us.

I really enjoyed it, obviously it was massively dramaticised in parts but other than that, it was a good watch.

Re: The kids are all right

which one of the lads, Reece Burke maybe was it, while on loan got to a playoff final at Wembley for a league 1 team (could have been league 2) but he'll remember that as much as anything else he'll (or whomever it was) achieve in his football life because he was a really young lad. Liked Burke, lo...

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham Utd: match thread

Cornet down the middle surely would have been better.

Couple of errors cost us the two goals other than that I can't complain.

3 players out and we've lost Coufal.

Need to protect our players for the winnable games.

Re: Crystal Palace vs West Ham United: match thread

Lose this and I don't see us picking up any points for the next couple of weeks. Leicester and Leeds are our only hopes. I think Everton and Southampton are down so it's one of either Leicester, Leeds or Forest but it still could go any way really. Us and Bournemouth push past the pack slightly then...

Re: Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

It staggers me that people can't give players time to acclimatise to the Premier League when joining from foreign leagues. Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra joined Man Utd in a January window and looked like two of the worst players in the league by season's end. You won't hear many 'Greatest Ever Pre...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Liverpool: match thread

Yes I was and I thought we did press but it was individuals not as a team likewise when we attacked, as a team we stood off them when they had possession and rarely over committed players when we attacked, it felt we were always passively waiting for them to do something rather us taking it to them...

Didn't concede with big Thilo in the team did we? why are we not giving him any love this week? Reminds me of Winston Reid, absolutely clueless in his first season with us but absolutely pushed onto being one of the most reliable defenders from his second season onwards. (granted we were relegated b...

It was Moyes masterplan all along to play terribly for months then turn it on to finish strong and win the ECL
