Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)
Just walked through the front door. Alvarez, Antonio and Kudus immense tonight. Just have a think about this: for 45 minutes, we absolutely played the runaway German championship and the form team of the world off the park. Europe has been the b*llocks. Expected absolutely nothing going into our fir...

Frankfurt-esque. Them scoring 50 seconds in absolutely killed the atmosphere stone dead and it never recovered.EastleighHammer16 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 9:03 am You can just see it.. stadium is bouncing, atmosphere rocking.
Leverkusen score after 90 seconds and kill the game.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)
Interesting from Leverkusen's info for away supporters for tomorrow: "In England, the police have a zero-tolerance policy. Anyone who attracts attention by sticking stickers, urinating in public, consuming drugs or being rowdy, among other things, will be taken away without discussion." Th...

Next week realistically could be our last European game for a long time. Nothing to lose, attack them from the first whistle.

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips
The Leeds supporter I know always maintained that he was a decent championship level player for years that no one thought much of who suddenly became a world beater with Bielsa's influence. Guess he's just regressed to his base level. Been thinking this for a while now. Bielsa transformed Leeds ove...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
Hopefully there's enough British teams out of the competition now so we can have the 8pm home slot again.
Think we've been very fortunate with our draws in Europe, so we're 100% due Liverpool.

Absolutely dead around the ground. Not a single queue at security or the turnstiles. All feels very League Cup third round/Conference League group stagey.

Ajax get Villa in the Conference League. Difficult tie for Villa, despite Ajax having a poor season. Would like us to be the only English winners of the Conference League for as long as possible.

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
Would've got Lens if Freiburg didn't get a 92nd minute equaliser and went on to win it in extra time last night. As everyone says, it's incredibly boring, but at least our supporters will be able to tick off Freiburg's ground after we were banned for the group game. Seem to remember we blew them awa...

We play Burnley on 10 March this year. Ten points for anybody who can remember what happened last time we played Burnley on this date.

Interested to see what happens with the Osman deal if it gets over the line. No idea if he'd need a work permit as he's a Ghanaian nation (with zero caps at any level), and has only been in Denmark for about a year. I assume somebody on here would be a bit more clued up than I am though.

Hope it happens at this point and the big six leave the Prem so things can be a bit more interesting and competitive.

The Serbian team we've drawn are basically Hungarian. Play in an ethnic Hungarian area of Serbia, funded by MOL, a massive Hungarian oil company and Viktor Orbán - Hungary's president. Their badge is basically a copy of Ferencváros' too. There's a decent article about them here: https://balkaninsigh...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Qatari sports outlet Al Kass seems to think Al-Nassr were the club interested in Kudus, but also now report that it's off due to Al-Nassr "not obtaining the necessary financial guarantees to finance the deal". Not that surprising, considering they've spent €27.5 million on Aymeric Laporte,...

Xhaka was investigated for spot fixing last year. Have a read of this, sounds quite similar to what Paqueta is being looked into at the moment: https://www.marca.com/en/football/arsen ... b45a2.html
