Re: Your childhood
Danny Baker's book "Going to Sea in a Sieve" is all about growing up on a Deptford council estate in the 60s and 70s. It's a fantastic read.

Re: Ben Johnson
He looked a bit short of confidence last night and didn't seem to want to take chances on overlapping runs etc. I still think there's a half-decent player in there though.

Re: Other Countries Humour
In my experience Germans don't do humour, and don't get humour. Bar one comedian on WILTY, ugly fooker, but funny as fook, forget his name. Japanese, they literally laugh at anything, particularly if someone hurts themselves. Robin Williams once pointed out the reason Germans aren't known for havin...

My old pair of slippers have bit the dust so I ordered a nw pair from t'internet. Bought on Sat, delivered Sun and since them I've known a new level of joy. They are like ankle boots with a lovely non animal fleece inside and a trainer like sole on the outside, giving a combination of both comfort ...

Considering we have lost five on the bounce, I thought we played alright last night - it certainly didn't seem like people's heads have dropped.

Regardless of how she felt, he should have only done that if he was absolutely certain he'd never want kids (or more kids assuming he already has them). If he came to the decision that he doesn't then it shouldn't have really mattered whether she dumped him or not. I had the snip because I already ...

I tried to log on to the ITV website about 10 minutes into the Argentina Vs Saudi Arabia match, but couldn't remember my password. The game is now over, and they still haven't sent me the link to change my details.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
We won a lot of games last season by the odd goal and I remember thinking we were a bit lucky. This season we just don't appear to be getting the rub of the green, and results are going against us. We have also bought in a lot of players, most towards the end of the transfer window, and it takes a w...

Re: Earthquakes
This reminds me of my boss, who was in the earthquake that hit the north of England in 2008. He only realised there had been an earthquake later that day when he saw it on the news, and couldn't work out how he didn't notice it.
Then he remembered: he was having a J Arthur Rank at the time.

I'm looking at moving out of the capital to Nottingham in the next year. I'm thinking Beeston - but does anyone know what it's like or can recommend some areas around the city to take a look at? I went up to Beeston a few weeks ago as someone offered me a job there. It wasn't for me, but a lot of o...
