Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)
While I agree he has been a tad petulant and mistake-prone the last few games....calling Paqueta anything other than one of our best players and by far our best creator in the squad would be silly, and is likely just an early coping mechanism for his inevitable departure this summer.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I think this will depend on Europe... But if we don't have Europe I can certainly see Potts, Earthy, Orford, Scarles all bought into the first team squad as direct back up for first teamers. If we get conference league I can definitely see some of the youngsters getting substantial playtime, especi...

I was fine with the first 3, maybe even chuck in Barkley...but the rest of this list would be depressing if this were our summer window.Martin Hurst-Moore wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 3:40 pm Doughty

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm
Depends on how we want to play v Fulham. I would hope we would go against the grain and try to have a bit of possession in this one. Fulham don't really have the players to trouble for pace too much on the counter attack (unless they start Traore, who always scores vs us), so their biggest threat wi...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Not the most ambitious, but considering the massive overhaul planned in the summer, I offer up some suggestions for the full-back positions that are budget signings but I also think improve the squad a decent amount. Alfie Doughty (LB), Ola Aina (RB/LB), Kyle Walker-Peters (RB/LB, only if Coufal lea...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm
Only player I would rest is Antonio. If we stand any chance of reversing the deficit v Leverkusen, he needs to be fit and firing. Bring him on at the 45-60 min mark like we did v Wolves. -----------Fabianski------------- Coufal--Mav--Zouma--Emerson ------Soucek---Alvarez--------- Kudus------JWP-----...

At least the commentators got what they wanted. They've been sucking off the Leverkusen side for the past 6 hours

Well that's the tie over then...we have no team for the second leg, and they will rest their entire team at the weekend.

Of course it takes the jammiest, flukiest, luckiest goal to break us down. Can see them getting a second now.

Someone target Wirtz the same way Leverkusen targeted Paqueta and Emerson. We need to level the playing field a bit here.

Referee couldn't get his yellow card out quick enough there. Emerson's first foul of the game is a yellow? A bit suspect...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
Paq needs to calm down. It's clear Alonso sent them out there to frustrate both Paq and Emerson into yellow cards. You can tell by the way the Leverkusen players immediately over-reacted and then surrounded Emerson during the Paq yellow scuffle. Alonso has his team playing smart. We need to start do...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
At our best with the back 5, Cresswell makes a huge difference at LCB. Can push forward a little bit and put in some dangerous crosses/cross-field balls from deep. But considering we're going to be pinned back most of the game, Emerson will need to help out A LOT to keep Cresswell from getting rinse...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I don't want any City player in exchange for Paq, unless it's Foden, Doku or Bobb...which isn't happening. Doku or Bobb would need to include cash our way as well. CB, LW, ST and CM the priorities. I just can't see us doing the necessary work this summer to improve the squad, left too much work to b...

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11
Been thinking about this(I'm bored  ) but I generally like anyone who's had a positive connection with West Ham, even Ince's misdemeanour has faded away and Defoe went right up in my estimation with the whole sad Bradley story in Sunderland. FLJ? well he's a bit dim I think. But I can't get p...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Michail Antonio
Watched the full vid, worth every second. Nobody in the current squad typifies or embodies West Ham more than Antonio. Capable of going from sublime to suboptimal in a matter of seconds, from Zidane to Zi-dont, from Prime R9 to current R9, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Scored his first goal...
